Phage vB_SenA_SM5, active against multiple isolates of multidrug-resistant Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi, was isolated from the sewage water of a tertiary-care referral hospital in Chandigarh, India. Food waste generation is a worldwide phenomenon and disposing off it in an environmentally benign way has been a challenge. Thermochemical processes have the potential for not only processing mixed food waste effectively from an environmental point of view but also producing bioenergy in all three forms: solid (biochar), liquid (bio-oil) and gas (syngas). In this study, two thermochemical processes - fast pyrolysis and steam gasification - aimed for producing syngas as main product were carried out at three different temperatures: 600°C, 700°C and 800°C, and resulting syngas was characterised and compared for syngas yield, syngas composition, hydrogen yield and high heating value (HHV).

We present a case of psychotic depression with polymyositis presenting with the distinct phenomenon of nihilism by proxy, which was treated with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). A female patient with polymyositis was initially treated with pharmacotherapy. After initial response, there was deterioration in her mental state and hence, after careful consideration, neurological, and anaesthetic consultations, modified ECT was given with close monitoring.

Background: Ten isolates of anaerobic fungi of Piromyces genus from wild cattle and blue bulls (five isolates from each host species) were evaluated for their fibrolytic ability in pure culture, their suitability for use as a microbial additive in buffaloes and their effect on methane emission.
