Recently, darobactins have emerged as a novel class of antibiotics originating from previously unexplored Gram-negative bacterial species such as , , and . Darobactins belong to the ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptide (RiPP) class of antibiotics, exhibiting selective activity against Gram-negative bacteria.
