The focus of the present study is to isolate and identify magnetotactic bacteria from fresh water sediments in Salem region, Tamil Nadu. Fresh water sediments were collected and characterized by X-ray diffraction to detect the crystalline nature of particles. Totally 12 isolates were screened for the metal biosorption efficiency in modified nutrient agar plates with 10 mg (lower concentration) of four different metals viz.

This study deals with the open pond (OP) pilot scale treatment of cassava effluent and enhancement of Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (RuBisCO) enzyme through CO utilization by the microalga, RDS01. The cassava effluent treatment (ET) revealed maximum reduction of ammonia (96.8%), calcium (94.

Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the surgical outcomes of pterygium excision with conjunctival autograft using sutures, fibrin glue (tisseel), and autologous blood for the management of primary pterygium.

Patients And Methods: A retrospective study done in 681 eyes with primary nasal pterygium. Excision of the pterygium was performed followed by closure of the bare sclera with conjunctival autograft using interrupted 10-0 monofilament nylon sutures in 173 eyes (Group 1), fibrin glue (tisseel-baxter healthcare corporation, westlake village, ca-91362 USA) in 351 eyes (Group 2), and autologous blood in 157 eyes (Group 3).

Two nickel(II) complexes with formula NiL1 and NiL2 (HL1 = S-allyl-4-methoxybenzylidene hydrazinecarbodithioate, HL2 = S-allyl-1-napthylidenehydrazinecarbodithioate) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, NMR, UV-vis spectroscopy and ESI mass spectrometry. The crystal structure of complex 1 has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffractometry. Both HL1 and HL2 ligands are coordinated to the metal in thiolate form.

Microalgae lipid feedstock preparation cost was an important factor in increasing biodiesel fuel hikes. This study was conducted with the concept of implementing an effluent wastewater as lipid production medium for microalgae cultivation. In our study textile dyeing industry effluent was taken as a lipid production medium for Neochloris sp.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) with riboflavin using ultraviolet-A light in children with progressive keratoconus.

Methods: Thirty-five eyes of 24 children with progressive keratoconus aged between 9 and 16 years were included in this retrospective study. Ocular examination included the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), dilated refraction, slit-lamp exam, and corneal topography (Orbscan II) at 6 and 12 months.
