This dataset provides longitudinal survey data from a European project, ySKILLS, which was focused on the role of digital skills in youths' development. It contains data from 10,821 participants from Grades 6-10 (in Wave 1) in Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Portugal. The data was collected between Spring 2021 and Spring 2023, the participants were recruited through schools, where the data collection also took place, except for online data collections due to restrictions caused by COVID-19.

We focus on the influence of time spent online on feelings of self-reported (a) depression and (b) health of adolescents. We also consider the mediating role of digital skills and digital activities, each of which is broken down into five dimensions.

However, differences exist in the type and frequency of news media consumption, which can be linked to their perceived vulnerability to disease. In this longitudinal study, 1000 Flemish (Belgium) individuals were followed from March 2020 until September 2020, focussing on the evolution in perceived vulnerability to disease (i.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective case-control study of patients with presumed acute ischemic stroke who had undergone non-ECG-gated CTA for the craniocervical vessels with an extended coverage including the heart in the context of emergency stroke evaluation and for whom TEE was available as part of the routine stroke diagnostic. We selected cases with evidence of LAA thrombus in TEE and controls without LAA thrombus in TEE in a 1:3 ratio.
Adding to longitudinal data of three waves that were presented in an original dataset on perceptions and behaviours regarding government measures, fear of getting ill, and media use during the COVID-19 pandemic in Flanders (Belgium), this article presents information on two additional waves that were collected at two key moments in the pandemic in the same region: in late August 2020 (W4; as infection rates increased again; N = 505) and in the middle of March 2021, exactly one year after the first data collection (W5; N = 408). In W4 and W5, new respondents were added to the longitudinal sample to strengthen cross-sectional analyses. Additional information on informal care and physical activity was also collected.

The majority of violent radicalization assessments have been developed among specific populations, with limited investigation into the generalizability and cross-cultural applicability of measurement tools. A transcultural investigation raises questions about the implicit assumptions and norms that inform instrument development.

This study investigates how exposure to and trust in information sources, and anxiety and depression, are associated with conspiracy and misinformation beliefs in eight countries/regions (Belgium, Canada, England, Philippines, Hong Kong, New Zealand, United States, Switzerland) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected in an online survey fielded from May 29, 2020 to June 12, 2020, resulting in a multinational representative sample of 8,806 adult respondents.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, people have become increasingly fearful of the disease as death tolls rise, while governments attempt to combat it by installing restrictive measures. News media play a vital role as they are the main sources from which people gather information regarding the disease and the public health measures. The present longitudinal data reflect a bird's eye view of people's fears towards getting ill, their news media consumption, and their attitudes regarding the (Belgian) government's handling of the COVID-19 crisis.

Although this approach delivered important improvements over previous testing strategies, increased sensitivity has also prompted a rise in diagnoses of uncertain clinical significance. This includes reports of chromosomal mosaicism, suggesting the presence of karyotypically distinct cells within a single TE biopsy.

These countries were chosen for their response to the 2015 refugee crisis in Europe, with each country having a different media context. We ran an online survey which included questions on socio-demographic characteristics, attitudinal indicators, and information on news media consumption and trust.

Design: Retrospective cohort study comparing AOA cycles and previous intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles in couples experiencing low or total failed fertilization after ICSI. Importantly, the sperm-related oocyte-activating capacity was examined in all patients before AOA with the use of the mouse oocyte activation test (MOAT).
Objectives: Violence committed by extremists has serious violent and non-violent public health consequences. Researchers have hypothesized an association between experiencing discrimination and support for radicalization. This study examines the relationship between perceived discrimination and support for violent extremism among youth and young adults in Belgium.

Study Answer: The probability of accurately diagnosing an embryo as abnormal was 100%, while the proportion of euploid embryos classified as clinically suitable was 61.9%, yet if structural and mosaic abnormalities were not considered accuracy increased to 100%, with a 0% false positive and false negative rate.
What Is Already Known: Embryo aneuploidy is associated with implantation failure and early pregnancy loss.
Research Question: Can oocyte-related activation deficiencies be evaluated in oocytes that failed to fertilize after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) combined with assisted oocyte activation (AOA)?
Design: Evaluation of the spindle-chromosome complexes and intracellular distribution of inositol trisphosphate type 1 receptors (IP3R1) in in-vitro matured (IVM) and failed-to-fertilize oocytes from patients undergoing AOA. Assessment of the oocyte-related Ca releasing capacity in response to Ca ionophores and sperm microinjection in oocytes that failed to fertilize after ICSI or ICSI-AOA.
Results: IVM oocytes from patients undergoing conventional ICSI (control) and ICSI-AOA (study group) revealed a similar normalcy of spindle-chromosome complexes and distribution patterns of IP3R1.
Research Question: Are there proteomic differences between endometrial stromal cells of repeated implantation failure (RIF), recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and normal fertile women, and is there differential protein expression upon decidualization?
Design: This exploratory study investigated the proteome of in-vitro cultured endometrial stromal cells of women with RIF (n = 4), women with RPL (n = 3) and normal fertile women (n = 4), comparing day 0 with 5 days of decidualization. Total proteins extracted from cell lysates were analysed by high-definition mass spectrometry. Data analysis was performed using significance analysis of microarray in R (P < 0.
Study Question: To what extent does a trophectoderm (TE) biopsy reliably reflect the chromosomal constitution of the inner cell mass (ICM) in human blastocysts?
Summary Answer: Concordance between TE and ICM was established in 62.1% of the embryos analysed.
What Is Known Already: Next generation sequencing (NGS) platforms have recently been optimised for preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (PGT-A).
Study Question: Can human oocyte calcium analysis predict fertilization success after assisted oocyte activation (AOA) in patients experiencing fertilization failure after ICSI?
Summary Answer: ICSI-AOA restores the fertilization rate only in patients displaying abnormal Ca2+ oscillations during human oocyte activation.
What Is Known Already: Patients capable of activating mouse oocytes and who showed abnormal Ca2+ profiles after mouse oocyte Ca2+ analysis (M-OCA), have variable responses to ICSI-AOA. It remains unsettled whether human oocyte Ca2+ analysis (H-OCA) would yield an improved accuracy to predict fertilization success after ICSI-AOA.
