Introduction: This study was conducted to assess the response to treatment and compare the effects of nebulized normal saline 0.9% and hypertonic saline 3% in the management of acute bronchiolitis, a condition associated with multiple complications in pediatric patients.

Materials And Methods: In this clinical trial, a total of 60 children diagnosed with viral bronchiolitis in the autumn and winter of 2018 at Ali Asghar Children's Hospital's emergency department were enrolled.

The investigation of the relationship between vitamin D level and severity of diabetic ketoacidosis in new cases of type 1 diabetes in children referred to Hazrat-E- Ali-Asghar Hospital in 2021.

Background And Purpose: According to the role of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) in glucose homeostasis and immune modulation, vitamin D deficiency may be associated with type 1 diabetes and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of investigation of the relationship between the vitamin D level and severity of diabetic ketoacidosis in new cases of type 1 diabetes in children referred to Hazrat-E-Ali-Asghar Hospital in 2021.

RNAi (RNA interference)-based technology is emerging as a versatile tool which has been widely utilized in the treatment of various diseases. siRNA can alter gene expression by binding to the target mRNA and thereby inhibiting its translation. This remarkable potential of siRNA makes it a useful candidate, and it has been successively used in the treatment of diseases, including cancer.

Multimodal Repair of Renal Artery Aneurysm - 10-year Single Center Experience.

Background: Renal artery aneurysm (RAA) is a rare disease with various treatment options in indicated patients. In the current survey, the 10-year experience in treatment of RAAs using different endovascular and surgical treatments depending on RAA characteristics is discussed.

Anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant effects of transgenic expression of human thrombomodulin in mice.

Thrombomodulin (TBM) is an important vascular anticoagulant that has species specific effects. When expressed as a transgene in pigs, human (h)TBM might abrogate thrombotic manifestations of acute vascular rejection (AVR) that occur when GalT-KO and/or complement regulator transgenic pig organs are transplanted to primates. hTBM transgenic mice were generated and characterized to determine whether this approach might show benefit without the development of deleterious hemorrhagic phenotypes.

Mnt is a Max-interacting protein that can antagonize the activities of Myc oncoproteins in cultured cells. Mnt null mice die soon after birth, but conditional deletion of Mnt in breast epithelium leads to tumor formation. These and related data suggest that Mnt functions as a tumor suppressor.

Enhancing CTL responses to melanoma cell vaccines in vivo: synergistic increases obtained using IFNgamma primed and IFNbeta treated B7-1+ B16-F10 melanoma cells.

Sequentially treating human melanoma cell lines by priming with interferon-gamma before adding interferon-beta was previously found to be the most efficient protocol for producing concurrently increased expression of the three surface antigens B7-1, intercellular adhesion molecule-1 and human histocompatibility leucocyte antigens Class I. The present study describes similar outcomes when the same sequential intercellular adhesion molecule-based protocol is applied to murine B16-F10 melanoma cells as well as preclinical studies using the B16-F10 model as a poorly immunogenic melanoma. Thus, treating B16-F10 cells or a highly expressing B7-1 transfected subline (B16-F10/B7-1 hi) by priming with interferon-gamma for 24 h before adding interferon-beta for a further 48 h (interferon-gamma 72/beta 48) increased expression of all three surface antigens, particularly major histocompatibility complex class I whose increased expression was sustained for several days.

rDNA-ITS2 based species-diagnostic polymerase chain reaction assay for identification of sibling species of Anopheles fluviatilis in Iran.

A species-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay using primers already designed, based on differences in the nucleotides of the second internal transcribed spacer (ITS2), was used to identify the species composition of the Anopheles fluviatilis complex in Iran. All the amplified DNA samples obtained from specimens collected from different areas using different collection methods yielded to a fragment of 450 bp size, a PCR product corresponding to the species denoted as Y. Some 21 ITS2 region of Iranian specimens were sequenced and compared with the already published sequence data of species Y from India.
