Article Synopsis
  • - The study examined how assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatments and patient characteristics impact maternal and neonatal outcomes in 45,159 singleton pregnancies from 2018 to 2021, particularly focusing on complications like pregnancy-induced hypertension and gestational diabetes.
  • - Results indicated that frozen embryo transfer (FET) and fresh embryo transfer (ET) are linked to varying risks for specific complications; FET showed higher risks for issues like pregnancy-induced hypertension and preeclampsia, while fresh ET was associated with placental abruption and small-for-gestational-age infants.
  • - The findings suggest that the type of embryo used in ART, whether fresh or frozen, significantly influences pregnancy outcomes, alongside the biological characteristics of the patients involved
