Parkinson's Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder afflicting almost 12 million people. Increased understanding of its complex and heterogenous disease pathology, etiology and symptom manifestations has resulted in the need to design, capture and interrogate substantial clinical datasets. Herein we advocate how advances in the deployment of artificial intelligence models for Federated Data Analysis and Federated Learning can help spearhead coordinated and sustainable approaches to address this grand challenge.

Objective: There are varying anatomical and mechanical demands of stent placement in the iliofemoral venous segment; the Duo Venous Stent System is designed to address these issues. The purpose of the VIVID (Venous stent for the Iliofemoral Vein Investigational clinical trial using the Duo Venous Stent System) study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of the Duo Venous Stent System for the treatment of patients with nonmalignant iliofemoral venous obstructive disease.

Methods: The CLOUT registry (NCT03575364) is a prospective, multicenter, single-arm study that enrolled 500 patients with proximal lower extremity deep vein thrombosis.
Parkinson's disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) share underlying neuropathology. Despite overlapping biology, therapeutic development has been approached separately for these clinical syndromes and there remains no treatment to slow, stop or prevent progression of clinical symptoms and development disability for people living with PD or DLB. Recent advances in biomarker tools, however, have paved new paths for biologic definition and staging of PD and DLB under a shared research framework.

Objective: To compare the comparative effects of treatment with contemporary mechanical thrombectomy (MT) or anticoagulation (AC) on Villalta scores and post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) incidence through 12 months in iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Methods: Patients with DVT in the Acute Venous Thrombosis: Thrombus Removal with Adjunctive Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis (ATTRACT) randomized trial and the ClotTriever Outcomes (CLOUT) registry were included in this analysis. Both studies evaluated the effects of thrombus removal on the incidence of PTS.
Objective: To compare thrombus removal and residual venous symptoms and signs of disease following interventional treatment of iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT) with mechanical thrombectomy (MT) and pharmacomechanical catheter directed thrombolysis (PCDT).
Methods: Retrospective cohort analysis of propensity score matched subgroups from the multicentre prospective MT ClotTriever Outcomes registry and the PCDT arm of the randomised Acute Venous Thrombosis: Thrombus Removal with Adjunctive Catheter Directed Thrombolysis trial. Patients with bilateral DVT, symptom duration greater than four weeks, isolated femoral-popliteal disease, or incomplete case data were excluded.

Objective: To examine in-hospital stroke onset metrics and outcomes, quality of care, and mortality compared with out-of-hospital stroke in a single community-based primary stroke center.
Patients And Methods: Medical records of in-hospital stroke onset were compared with out-of-hospital stroke onset alert data between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2019. Time-sensitive stroke process metric data were collected for each incident stroke alert.
Purpose: Mechanical thrombectomy for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is being increasingly utilized to reduce symptoms and prevent postthrombotic syndrome (PTS), but more data on clinical outcomes are needed. Mechanical thrombectomy was studied in the ClotTriever Outcomes (CLOUT) registry with 6-month full analysis outcomes reported herein.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is almost twice as prevalent in men, which has largely been attributed to neuroprotective effect of oestradiol in women. Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a common and life-threatening inherited blood disorder that affects more than 300,000 newborns per year. Because of the origins of the sickle gene mutation as a protective mechanism against malaria for those with sickle cell trait, more than 90% of annual SCD births are in sub-Saharan Africa (sSA). Over the past several decades, there have been many important advances in the care of individuals with SCD, including early diagnosis through newborn screening programs (NBS), prophylactic penicillin, the development of vaccines to prevent invasive bacterial infections, and the emergence of hydroxyurea as the primary disease-modifying pharmacologic therapy.

Background: We report in-hospital outcomes from the multicenter, prospective, single-arm ClotTriever Outcomes (CLOUT) registry, which enrolled up to 500 patients with proximal lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) treated with percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy using the ClotTriever System (Inari Medical).
Methods: The CLOUT registry enrolled all-comer patients with DVT, irrespective of symptom duration, thrombus age, prior treatment of the current DVT, or bilateral thrombus. The primary effectiveness end point was defined as complete or near complete (≥75%) reduction in Marder score.
Background: Family medicine clinical education poses logistic issues that we sought to address with the Student Education Team model.
