Main Objective: To identify hospitalizations directly related to a complication occurring within 30 days following a transrectal prostate biopsy (PBP).

Secondary Objectives: Overall hospitalization rates, mortality rates, potential predisposing factors for complications.

Patients And Methods: Single-center study including all patients who underwent PBP between January 2005 and January 2012.

Objective: To describe a technique combining the implantation of fiducials and a prostatic spacer (hyaluronic acid [HA]) to decrease the rectal toxicity after an image-guided external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) with hypofractionation for prostate cancer and to assess the tolerance and the learning curve of the procedure.

Materials And Methods: Thirty patients with prostate cancer at low or intermediate risk were included in a phase II trial: image-guided EBRT of 62 Gy in 20 fractions of 3.1 Gy with intensity-modulated radiotherapy.

Aim: To evaluate the performance of urinary PCA3 test to predict prostate biopsy outcome in a large French cohort.

Patients And Methods: A urine sample was prospectively obtained in 1015 patients undergoing prostate biopsies to determine the PCA3 score. The predictive value of PCA3 was explored using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis (ROC), multivariable logistic regression analysis and decision curve analysis.

It has been suggested that urinary PCA3 and TMPRSS2:ERG fusion tests and serum PHI correlate to cancer aggressiveness-related pathological criteria at prostatectomy. To evaluate and compare their ability in predicting prostate cancer aggressiveness, PHI and urinary PCA3 and TMPRSS2:ERG (T2) scores were assessed in 154 patients who underwent radical prostatectomy for biopsy-proven prostate cancer. Univariate and multivariate analyses using logistic regression and decision curve analyses were performed.

Nephron sparing surgery (NSS) results in the transplanted population remain unknown because they are only presented in small series or case reports. Our objective was to study renal sparing surgery for kidney graft renal cell carcinomas (RCC) in a multicenter cohort. Data were collected from 32 French transplantation centers.

Introduction: New techniques have been proposed for the surgical treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH): laser enucleation and laparoscopic adenomectomy. The objective of this retrospective study was the comparison of the results of Millin adenomectomy realized under contemporary medical conditions, with the results of laser enucleation and laparoscopic adenomectomy.

Method: Two hundred and forty consecutive Millin adenomectomy cases performed between January 2004 and December 2008 were analyzed.

Purpose: Similar to prostate-specific antigen (PSA) density, PCA3 density (PCA3D: ratio of urinary PCA3 score/prostate volume) can be calculated, but whether it can be an aid to decide biopsy in patients at risk of prostate cancer (PCa) is uncertain. The objective was to demonstrate that PCA3D provides better specificity than PCA3 in predicting initial prostate biopsy outcome.

Methods: Serum and urine samples were obtained from 595 consecutive patients scheduled for initial prostate biopsy.

Purpose: This study assessed the contribution of ahyaluronic acid (HA) injection between the rectum and the prostate to reducing the dose to the rectal wall in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).

Methods And Materials: As part of a phase 2 study of hypofractionated radiation therapy (62 Gy in 20 fractions), the patients received a transperineal injection of 10 cc HA between the rectum and the prostate. A dosimetric computed tomographic (CT) scan was systematically performed before (CT1) and after (CT2) the injection.

Objective: To try and identify a molecular signature for pathological staging and/or grading. through microarray analysis.

Patients And Methods: We performed a prospective multicentre study between September 2007 and May 2008 that included 108 bladder tumours (45 pTa, 35 pT1 and 28>pT1).

While now recognized as an aid to predict repeat prostate biopsy outcome, the urinary PCA3 (prostate cancer gene 3) test has also been recently advocated to predict initial biopsy results. The objective is to evaluate the performance of the PCA3 test in predicting results of initial prostate biopsies and to determine whether its incorporation into specific nomograms reinforces its diagnostic value. A prospective study included 601 consecutive patients addressed for initial prostate biopsy.

Purpose: Gold markers are frequently used for a better daily repositioning of the prostate before irradiation. The purpose of this work was to analyze if the combination of an androgen deprivation with the external irradiation could modify the position of the gold markers in the prostate.

Patients And Methods: Ten patients have been treated for a prostate cancer, using three implanted gold markers.

Purpose: To assess both economical and organizational impact as well as bacteriologic safety of a flexible cystoscope with sterile disposable sheath (FCSDS) compared to standard flexible cystoscopy (SFC) in two French urologic academic units.

Patients: Two-center prospective study, comparing the use of the FCSDS to the SFC on two consecutive periods of time. Two hundred and five patients were included and divided into each group.

Objective: We studied whether atypical, non-superficial urothelial cells (AUC) could be separated into new subcategories including AUC 'of undetermined significance' (AUC-US) and 'cannot exclude high grade'' (AUC-H) in order to help to standardize urine cytopathology reports, as it is widely accepted in the Bethesda system for gynaecological cytopathology.

Methods: We investigated whether AUC-US and AUC-H, defined by distinctive cytological criteria, might be separated with statistical significance according to actual diagnosis and follow-up data. A series of 534 cyto-histological comparisons taken in 139 patients, including 221 AUC at various steps of their clinical history was studied.

Introduction: Determinate if the adjunction of PCA3 score and/or prostatic MRI can improve the selection of the patients who have an indication of first prostate biopsy.

Patients And Methods: Multiparametric prostatic MRI and PCA3 score were made before biopsy to men scheduled for initial prostate biopsy for abnormal digital rectal examination and/or PSA superior to 4 ng/mL. T2-weighted imaging, diffusion-weighted imaging and dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging looked for suspect target classified on a scale of four.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the contribution of an injection of hyaluronic acid (HA) between the rectum and the prostate for reducing the dose to the rectal wall in a hypofractionated irradiation for prostate cancer.

Methods And Materials: In a phase 2 study, 10 cc of HA was injected between the rectum and prostate. For 16 patients, the same intensity modulated radiation therapy plan (62 Gy in 20 fractions) was optimized on 2 computed tomography scans: CT1 (before injection) and CT2 (after injection).
