Distinctions of bipolar disorder symptoms in adolescence.

Bipolar disorder in adolescents is a serious mental illness with problematic diagnosis that adversely affects social, academic, emotional, and family functioning. The objective of this study was to analyze features of premorbid and clinical symptoms, comorbidity, and course of bipolar disorder in adolescence. Data for analysis were collected from all case histories (N=6) of 14-18-year-old patients, hospitalized with diagnosis of bipolar disorder in the Unit of Children's and Adolescents' Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, Hospital of Kaunas University of Medicine, during the period from 2000 to 2005.

Collagen network changes in basilar artery in aging.

Objective: The aim of this study was to examine and evaluate morphometrically age-related changes in collagen network in the tunica media of human basilar artery.

Materials And Methods: Histological analysis of the basilar arteries obtained from 89 individuals, aged 20 to 85 years, was performed. The study has been carried out by standard histological technique; histological samples were stained with picrosirius red.

Knowledge of symptoms of appropriate brain areas lesion helps to differ psychiatric and neurological disorders. The objective of our work was to find out the situation in scientific research about mental disorder relation to brain lesion location and to except the location of lesions, which are most complicated in differential diagnosis. We discussed the relation of most important mental disorders to brain lesion location.
