This paper demonstrates a carbene stabilized precursor [Cu(NHC)(hmds)] with suitable volatility, reactivity and thermal stability, that enables the spatial plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (APP-ALD) of copper thin films at atmospheric pressure. The resulting conductive and pure copper layers were thoroughly analysed and a comparison of precursor and process with the previously reported silver analogue [Ag(NHC)(hmds)] revealed interesting similarities and notable differences in precursor chemistry and growth characteristics. This first report of APP-ALD grown copper layers is an important starting point for high throughput, low-cost manufacturing of copper films for nano- and optoelectronic devices.

Effects of fats and oils on pasting and textural properties of soft and hard wheat flours were investigated. Fats and oils significantly diminished peak viscosity, trough, breakdown, setback, final viscosity and escalated the pasting temperature. Three new depsidones, parmosidones F - G (1 - 2), and 8'-O-methylsalazinic acid (3), and 3 new diphenylethers, parmetherines A - C (4 - 6), together with 2 known congeners were isolated from the whole thalli of , a foliose chlorolichen. Their structures were unambiguously determined by extensive spectroscopic analyses and comparison with literature data. Natural environments are seldom static and therefore it is important to ask how a population adapts in a changing environment. We consider a finite, diploid population evolving in a periodically changing environment and study how the fixation probability of a rare mutant depends on its dominance coefficient and the rate of environmental change. We find that, in slowly changing environments, the effect of dominance is the same as in the static environment, that is, if a mutant is beneficial (deleterious) when it appears, it is more (less) likely to fix if it is dominant.

A series of oxime ester-derivatives were prepared by utilizing the schizandrin (1), a major compound isolated from Schisandra grandiflora, which is deployed in different traditional system of medicine. The in vitro antiproliferative activities of the synthesized compounds were assessed against a selected panel of human cancer cell lines (A549, RKO P3, DU145 and Hela) and normal cell (HEK293). The identification of bis-3-(N,N-dimethylamino)propyl zinc ([Zn(DMP) ], BDMPZ) as a safe and potential alternative to the highly pyrophoric diethyl zinc (DEZ) as atomic layer deposition (ALD) precursor for ZnO thin films is reported. Owing to the intramolecular stabilization, BDMPZ is a thermally stable, volatile, nonpyrophoric solid compound, however, it possesses a high reactivity due to the presence of Zn-C and Zn-N bonds in this complex.
