Background: Brain metastases (BrMs) are a devastating complication of solid tumours. A better understanding of BrMs biology is needed to address their challenging clinical management.
Methods: Immunogenomic and digital spatial analyses were applied to interrogate the peripheral blood and tumour specimens derived from 53 unique patients with BrMs originating from different solid tumours.
There is increased recognition that people with lived-experience of mental ill-health ought to be centred in research design, implementation and translation, and quality improvement and program evaluation of services. There is also an increased focus on ways to ensure that co-design processes can be led by people with lived-experience of mental ill-health. Despite this, there remains limited explanation of the physical, social, human, and economic infrastructure needed to create and sustain such models in research and service settings.

Continued poor cardiovascular health demands improved screening and preventive care. No previous reviews have examined primary care cardiovascular screening rates for people living with severe mental ill-health; termed in the literature "severe mental illness".

Although previous randomised controlled trials of PGx testing for antidepressant prescribing have shown an association with remission of depression in clinical psychiatric settings, few trials have focused on the primary care setting, where most antidepressant prescribing occurs.
Methods: The PRESIDE Trial is a stratified double-blinded randomised controlled superiority trial that aims to evaluate the impact of a PGx-informed antidepressant prescribing report (compared with standard prescribing using the Australian Therapeutic Guidelines) on depressive symptoms after 12 weeks, when delivered in primary care.
Objectives: To investigate the value of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) of articular cartilage to differentiate healthy from osteoarthritis (OA) subjects in all cartilage regions.
Methods: DTI was acquired sagittally at 7 T in ten healthy and five OA (Kellgren-Lawrence grade 2) subjects with a line scan diffusion tensor sequence (LSDTI). Three healthy volunteers and two OA subjects were examined twice to assess the test-retest reproducibility.
Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate autoregulatory mechanisms in different vascular territories within the first week after aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) by perfusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (PW-MRI). For this purpose, regional cerebral blood flow and volume (rCVF and rCBV) were measured in relation to different degrees of angiographically visible cerebral vasospasm (CVS).
Materials And Methods: In 51 SAH patients, PW-MRI and digital subtraction angiography were performed about 5 days after onset of SAH.
Objective: The "double hemorrhage" model in the rat is frequently used to simulate delayed cerebral vasospasm (CVS) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in humans. However, an exact neurological and angiographic characterization of the CVS is not available for this model so far and is provided in the present investigation. Additionally, perfusion weighted imaging (PWI) at 3 tesla magnetic resonance (MR) tomography was implemented to assess the reduction in cerebral blood flow (CBF).

For this reason, the aim of the study was to develop a standardized angiographic examination technique without additional complex equipment. Under general anesthesia, 11 Sprague-Dawley rats underwent selective cerebral digital subtraction angiography using a 0.

Methods: In 30 New Zealand white rabbits, the thoracic spine was exposed via a posterior approach. On each side of one vertebral lamina a small hole was drilled caudal to the articular process.
Background: Most complications of radiosurgery occur after 6-12 months and some long term complications up to after 5-10 years. Although severe, immediate side effects are rare, we report a patient who shows that this possibility should be taken into account when large volumes are treated especially in the posterior fossa.
Case Report: A patient was treated with radiosurgery for multiple brain metastases, of which 5 were located in the posterior fossa.

Purpose: To investigate adrenomedullin-induced relaxation in isolated porcine ciliary arteries.
Methods: In a myograph system (isometric force measurement), precontracted vessels ( approximately 0.1 micro M U46619; thromboxane A(2) analogue or approximately 10 nM endothelin-1) were exposed, in a cumulative manner, to increasing concentrations of adrenomedullin (1 nM to 1 micro M) in the presence or absence of different drugs.

Erdheim-Chester disease is a rare systemic non-Langerhans histiocytosis of unknown etiology that affects multiple organ systems. Cerebral involvement is most often caused by extra-axial masses of foamy histiocytes, whereas intraparenchymal manifestations are less frequent. Review of the literature yielded a total of seven patients with increased signal intensities on T2-weighted images in both dentate nuclei and the peridentate regions.

In an emergency setting with acute spinal cord symptoms, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to exclude space-occupying lesions which require neurosurgical intervention. We report on two patients presenting with an anterior spinal artery syndrome caused by infarction of the thoracolumbar spinal cord including the conus medullaris.

A clear association exists between glaucoma and different risk factors, such as high intraocular pressure (IOP) or blood-flow dysregulation. Nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin, two recently identified cellular mediators, appear to be involved in the regulation of IOP as well as in the modulation of ocular blood flow.

Purpose: To investigate whether oxidized low-density lipoprotein (Ox-LDL) affects endothelium-dependent responses in isolated porcine ciliary arteries.
Methods: In a myograph system for isometric force measurements, quiescent vessels were incubated with 50 microg/ml, 100 microg/ml, or 200 microg/ml Ox-LDL; 100 microg/ml native LDL (n-LDL); 1 microM of the ET(A)- endothelin receptor antagonist BQ 123; 100 microg/ml Ox-LDL coadministered with 1 microM BQ 123; or 100 microg/ml Ox-LDL coadministered with 50 microM of the protein synthesis inhibitor cycloheximide. Vessels with nonfunctional endothelium (intentionally and mechanically damaged) were also exposed to 100 microg/ml Ox-LDL.

Background: The present study was performed to investigate the influence of extracellular magnesium on changes in contractile tone induced by endothelin-1, and on relaxations to bradykinin in isolated porcine ciliary arteries.
Methods: Vessels were studied in a myograph system for measurement of isometric forces. Concentration-response curves (10(-10)-10(-7) M) to endothelin-1 were constructed in the presence of different concentrations (0, 1.
