We report on a 32-year-old woman with multiple, progressive cavitary lung lesions. Lung cavities may occur in the context of various diseases and, thus, represent a huge diagnostic challenge. The spectrum of diseases comprises infections, systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases, and malignancies.

Cardiovocal syndrome or Ortner's syndrome is hoarseness due to left recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy caused by mechanical affection of the nerve from enlarged cardiovascular structures. Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension is extremely rarely found to cause this syndrome. We describe a case of a 56-year-old patient with sudden onset of hoarseness.

Acute haemoperitoneum in patients with coagulation disorders or those under anticoagulation therapy is a diagnostic and therapeutic dilemma. Since radiological imaging is often insufficient for establishing the origin of the bleeding, a laparoscopic approach can be considered before a laparotomy is performed in haemodynamically unstable patients. A 32-year-old woman receiving coumadin therapy presented with acute lower abdominal complaints.
