Identification of high-functioning autism spectrum disorders based on gray-white matter functional network connectivity.

In the field of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), research on functional connectivity between gray matter and white matter remains under-researched. To address this gap, this study innovatively introduced a nested cross-validation method that integrates gray-white matter functional connectivity with an F-Score algorithm. This method calculates the correlation based on signals extracted from functional magnetic resonance imaging data using gray matter and white matter brain region templates.

Identification and analysis of key genes related to efferocytosis in colorectal cancer.

Unlabelled: The impact of efferocytosis-related genes (ERGs) on the diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear. In this study, efferocytosis-associated biomarkers for the diagnosis of CRC were identified by integrating data from transcriptome sequencing and public databases. Finally, the expression of biomarkers was validated by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR).

Laparoscopic colectomy for serosa-positive colon cancer (pT4a) in patients with preoperative diagnosis of cancer without serosal invasion.

Purpose: Although general surgeons normally perform laparoscopic colectomies in patients with colon cancer, the procedure is also indicated for serosa-negative tumors (≤ cT3). Serosal invasion (T4a) is regarded as a potential risk factor for peritoneal dissemination due to pneumoperitoneum effects and tumor manipulation during laparoscopic colectomy. We compared short- and long-term outcomes of patients who underwent laparoscopic and open colectomies for serosa-involving colon cancer (pT4a) and had a preoperative diagnosis of cancer without serosal invasion (≤cT3).
