A multitude of tactics exists to reduce ICP, ranging from patient position and medications to cerebrospinal fluid diversion and surgical decompression. A vast amount of literature has been published regarding ICP management in the critical care setting, but studies specifically tailored toward the management of intraoperative acute increases in ICP or brain bulk are lacking.

Instability associated with ACL injury has been linked to the development of secondary meniscal tears (defined as tears that develop after the initial ACL injury). To date, no study has examined secondary meniscal tears after ACL injury and their effect on OA and arthroplasty risk.

We developed predictive models using claims data to identify metastatic/advanced-stage patients with ovarian cancer, urothelial carcinoma, gastric adenocarcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: Patients with ≥1 diagnosis of a cancer of interest were identified in the HealthCore Integrated Research Database (HIRD), a United States (US) healthcare database (2010-2016).

There is limited evidence guiding management of medial collateral ligament (MCL) avulsions or functional disruptions distal to the medial joint line. This study aims to determine outcomes of a series of patients with grade III distal MCL injuries managed with acute surgical repair. Patients with grade III, distal MCL injuries, with or without multiligament involvement were identified.

Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of consecutive patients admitted with AH to a tertiary care hospital from 1999 through 2016 (test cohort, n = 135).
Bone marrow edema (BME) can be a late finding in osteoarthritis or a sign of subchondral insufficiency. The purpose of this study was to describe the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) finding we refer to as "osteomeniscal impact edema" (OMIE), or reactive BME adjacent to a displaced meniscus flap tear. In addition, this edema pattern is compared with a control group of medial meniscus posterior root tears (MMPRT) with subchondral insufficiency edema.

Purpose Of Review: To present an updated systematic review of the indications and outcomes of open and arthroscopic labral reconstruction. Due to the increasing popularity and recognition, the arthroscopic procedure has gained in recent years, the aim was to assess for changes in indications, graft selection, and improvement in outcomes within the last 5 years.
Recent Findings: A total of nine eligible studies (six case series, one cohort, and two retrospective comparative studies) with a total of 234 patients (265 hips), and an average 12/16 (non-comparative studies) and 20/24 (comparative studies) quality on the MINORS score were included in this review.

Neocord formation after Type III cordectomy is insufficient for complete glottic closure due to scarring and soft tissue deficit. This study evaluates the role of autologous fat injection (AFI) in phonosurgical management of patients who have previously undergone Type III cordectomy for early glottic cancer. Data was collected from hospital records of patients who underwent AFI after previously undergoing Type III cordectomy.

Cellular senescence is a biological process by which cells lose their capacity to proliferate yet remain metabolically active. Although originally considered a protective mechanism to limit the formation of cancer, it is now appreciated that cellular senescence also contributes to the development of disease, including common respiratory ailments such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. While many factors have been linked to the development of cellular senescence, mitochondrial dysfunction has emerged as an important causative factor.

The purpose of this study is to report knee function and clinical stability after PCL reconstruction (PCLR) using an all-inside technique. Thirty-two patients with isolated or combined PCL injuries treated with all-inside PCLR using soft tissue allograft were included.

There is large variability and uncertainty in estimated risk of occult uterine cancer in the literature and prior research often did not differentiate/include all subtypes.
Objectives: To thoroughly examine the prevalence of occult uterine cancer in a large population-based sample of women undergoing hysterectomy for presumed benign indications and to identify associated risk factors.

Purpose: This study compared the clinical stability and efficacy of locking miniplates with those of standard miniplates in the osteosynthesis of anterior mandibular fractures using bite force recordings and other clinical parameters.
Materials And Methods: A prospective randomized double-blinded clinical trial was carried out in patients from various hospitals of Hassan (India). Patients were randomly divided into 2 groups of locking (test) and standard (control) miniplate osteosynthesis.
Background: Surgical reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the most common orthopaedic procedures, with an estimated 100,000 to 175,000 procedures performed annually. Recently, the all-inside reconstruction technique has come into favor and is theorized to be superior to the complete tibial tunnel technique.
Purpose: To compare clinical and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) for hamstring autograft ACL reconstruction (ACLR) performed with an all-inside versus a complete tibial tunnel technique.
Background: Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a well-established treatment modality for chronic pain. Thoracic radiculopathy has been reported as a complication of SCS paddle lead implantation by several authors and commonly presents as abdominal pain.
Methods: We performed a search of all patients who underwent either placement of a new epidural paddle lead electrode or revision of an epidural paddle lead electrode for SCS in the thoracic region from January 2017 to January 2018.
Background/aim: Several epidemiological studies have reported the chemopreventive potential of biochanin A, in cancer development and progression. We investigated the anticancer potential of combination of biochanin A and temozolomide against U-87 MG and T98 G [glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)] cells.
Materials And Methods: We evaluated the effect of biochanin A and temozolomide treatment on cell viability, expression of survival proteins, cell cycle, cell metabolism and mitochondrial function.
Background: Avulsion fractures involving the tibial eminence are considered equivalent in terms of the cause to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears; however, there are limited data comparing the outcomes of adolescent patients undergoing surgical fixation of a tibial eminence fracture (TEF) with those undergoing ACL reconstruction.
Purpose: To compare the clinical outcomes, subsequent ACL injury rates, and activity levels between adolescent patients who underwent TEF fixation with patients with midsubstance ACL tears who required acute reconstruction.
Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3.
