Hepatitis A is a vaccine-preventable disease with 1.5 million people infected world-wide annually. Improvement in the socio-economic status and general public health measures of Asian countries over the last 20 years has led to a shift in the seroprevalence of hepatitis A in many of these countries.

This cross-sectional study evaluates the effect of high-dose inhaled fluticasone propionate (FP) on biochemical markers of bone metabolism and bone density in children with asthma. Children with chronic asthma using FP >/= 1,000 mcg daily for at least 6 months, and healthy controls, were entered in the study.
