Objective: Ampullary neoplastic lesions can be resected by endoscopic papillectomy (EP) or transduodenal surgical ampullectomy (TSA) while pancreaticoduodenectomy is reserved for more advanced lesions. We present the largest retrospective comparative study analysing EP and TSA.
Design: Of all patients in the database, lesions with prior interventions, benign histology advanced malignancy (T2 and more), patients with hereditary syndromes and those undergoing pancreatoduodenectomy were excluded.
Background: Dorsomedian nasopharyngeal masses with benign macroscopic appearance are frequently observed during retrograde nasopharyngoscopy, particularly in brachycephalic breeds, but are not well described.
Hypothesis/objectives: To characterize these masses, assess their frequency, and identify the potential factors associated with their presence.
Animals: Dogs that underwent retrograde nasopharyngoscopy at a private hospital.
Background: Management of biliopancreatic pathology in Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) patients is challenging despite the availability of multiple approaches like single-balloon enteroscopy-assisted ERCP (SBE-ERCP), laparoscopy-assisted ERCP (LA-ERCP), and EUS-directed transgastric intervention (EDGI). We evaluated the outcomes of the interchangeable combination of endoscopic procedures to treat biliopancreatic pathology in RYGB patients.
Materials And Methods: This is a monocentric retrospective study of consecutive RYGB patients with biliopancreatic pathology between June 2014 and September 2023.
Background: This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of salvage endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for Barrett's neoplasia recurrence after radiofrequency ablation (RFA).
Methods: Data from patients at 16 centers were collected for a multicenter retrospective study. Patients who underwent at least one RFA treatment for Barrett's esophagus and thereafter underwent further esophageal ESD for neoplasia recurrence were included.
Sometimes non-neoplastic changes of the gastric mucosa mimic diffuse-type gastric carcinoma, specifically signet-ring cell adenocarcinoma. In fact, gastric epithelial cells undergoing signet-ring cell change have a cellular morphology that is almost identical to signet-ring cell adenocarcinoma, often leading to misdiagnosis. Accurate recognition of signet-ring cell change is essential to avoid overdiagnosis and overtreatment of signet-ring cell adenocarcinoma.

Methods: We identified 20 patients with ALs of minor duodenal papilla in the multicentric database from the Endoscopic Papillectomy vs Surgical Ampullectomy vs Pancreatitcoduodenectomy for Ampullary Neoplasm study, which included 1422 EPs.
Introduction: The study aimed to develop international consensus recommendations on the safe use of lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMSs) for on- and off-label indications.
Methods: Based on the available literature, statements were formulated and grouped into the following categories: general safety measures, peripancreatic fluid collections, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-biliary drainage, EUS-gallbladder drainage, EUS-gastroenterostomy, and gastric access temporary for endoscopy. The evidence level of each statement was determined using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation methodology.
Background And Aims: Circumferential endoscopic submucosal dissection (cESD) in the esophagus has been reported to be feasible in small Eastern case series. We assessed the outcomes of cESD in the treatment of early esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) in Western countries.
Methods: We conducted an international study at 25 referral centers in Europe and Australia using prospective databases.
Objective: In recent years, endoscopic ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation (EUS-RFA) has emerged as an alternative nonsurgical treatment for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours. The aim of our study was to assess the long-term follow-up of patients treated with EUS-RFA for a sporadic insulinoma in our centre in terms of efficacy, safety and risk of recurrence.
Design, Patients And Measurements: We retrospectively analysed the data of 11 patients with an insulinoma treated by EUS-RFA in our tertiary centre between June 2018 and April 2022.
Undifferentiated early gastric cancer (UD-EGC) represents an extended indication for endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) based on the existing guidelines. This study evaluated the prevalence of UD-EGC recurrence after ESD, and potentially implicated risk factors. Data from 17 centers were collected retrospectively including demographics, endoscopic and pathological findings, and follow-up data from UD-EGC cases treated by ESD.

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of single-balloon enteroscopy-assisted endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (SBE-ERCP) to treat biliopancreatic pathology in patients with Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy surgical variants.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 106 SBE-ERCP procedures in 46 patients with Whipple's variants.
Background: Endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE) using lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMSs) appears to be effective and safe in gastric outlet obstruction (GOO); however, the EUS-GE procedure is not standardized, with the use of assisted or direct methods still debated. The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes of EUS-GE techniques focusing on an assisted with orointestinal drain wireless endoscopic simplified technique (WEST) and the nonassisted direct technique over a guidewire (DTOG).
Method: This was a multicenter European retrospective study involving four tertiary centers.
ESGE suggests conventional endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD; marking and mucosal incision followed by circumferential incision and stepwise submucosal dissection) for most esophageal and gastric lesions. ESGE suggests tunneling ESD for esophageal lesions involving more than two-thirds of the esophageal circumference. ESGE recommends the pocket-creation method for colorectal ESD, at least if traction devices are not used.
