Between 1997 to 1999 in 9 centres of the Polish Paediatlic Leukemia/Lymphoma Study Group, 167 children and adolescents (aged 2-19 years) with stage 1 to IV Hodgkin's disease (HD) were treated according to a regimen with a limited use of radiotherapy (RT). Four hundred and four children with Hodgkin's disease (stage I-IV) were treated in seven cooperating centers of Polish Paediatric Leukaemia/Lymphoma Study Group between 1988 and 1996. Mediastinal masses and/or hilar involvement were found in 261 (65%) patients. Remission was obtained in 256 (98%) of this group.

Retrospective analysis of the results of treatment chronic myeloid (CML) leukemia in 80 children was done. From among 72 children treated by conventional methods the probability of 10 years survival had 17%. Statistically significant better results was obtained in the group of children with adult than juvenile type of CML (23 and 8%).

Lymphocyte depletion Hodgkin's disease (LDHD) was diagnosed in 8 of 40 children with Hodgkin's disease treated from July 1969 to September 1976. All of the children received conventional radiotherapy and combination chemotherapy with mustine, vinblastine, procarbazine, and prednisone (MVPP). In LDHD children the disease was associated with severe anemia, splenomegaly presence of mediastinal enlargement, and dissemination at the time of diagnosis.

Thirty-four children with Hodgkin's disease were treated during the years 1969--75. After radiotherapy, 7--15 cycles of MVPP were given within 24--53 months. In order to avoid chronic leukopenia, leukocyte counts were made frequently during chemotherapy, and the drug doses adjusted accordingly.
