The power and ability of catalysis to build multiple C-C bonds in a single step has had a transformative impact on organic synthesis. While the reactivity of organohalides with metal catalysts is widely appreciated, the related and more intricate reactivity of acid chlorides is less so, despite their use as common reagents in synthesis. Here, we review the transformations of acid chlorides in combination with unsaturated C-C bonds catalyzed by palladium, rhodium, or iridium and provide an outlook for future research opportunities.

Cannabis-induced psychosis (CIP) is an increasingly acknowledged psychiatric phenomenon observed in vulnerable patients exposed to cannabis. This brief case report details a male patient in his 20s, who presents to the ED with derealization two days after ingesting a gummy worm containing delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ8-THC). Two days post-ED discharge, the patient gradually developed symptoms of religious-themed psychosis and was prescribed 10 mg of aripiprazole daily.

While the legal status and public perception of cannabis are currently changing in many countries, one of the important considerations from a public health viewpoint is its potential association with adverse health outcomes such as the development of psychosis. We conducted an umbrella review of systematic reviews and meta-analyses using the AMSTAR-2 to assess the quality of included reviews. Climate change models often assume similar responses to temperatures across the range of a species, but local adaptation or phenotypic plasticity can lead plants and animals to respond differently to temperature in different parts of their range.
