Article Synopsis
  • Implantation is a key stage in pregnancy that involves the interaction between the embryo and the endometrium, and the study focused on the effects of folic acid (FA) supplementation and deficiency during this period.
  • The research used 32 Wistar albino rats divided into four groups (control, folate-deficiency, low-dose, and high-dose FA) to assess changes in specific markers like Estrogen Receptor Alpha, VEGFA, and Integrin αVβ3 after different FA treatments.
  • Results indicated that high-dose FA significantly increased expression levels of these markers, while folate deficiency led to decreased levels, suggesting that adequate FA supplementation is crucial for healthy implantation and may prevent pregnancy complications.

Article Synopsis
  • A study looked at whether kinesiotaping can help women with osteoporosis reduce back pain and improve posture compared to just doing exercises.
  • The results showed that while kinesiotaping helped reduce pain after 6 weeks, it didn't really improve their back shape or balance any more than exercise alone.
  • However, right after the taping, there was a quick improvement in the way they stood and their back shape, but those benefits didn’t last long.

Neurofibromatosis type 2 mostly develops with multiple neoplasms of the central and peripheral nervous system and is associated with ocular abnormalities. The presented case is a 19-year-old female patient with bilateral vestibulocochlear schwannomas in both pontocerebellar corners, intradural intra-extramedullary masses, and multiple neurofibromas in the spinal canal. The clinical picture for NF-2, also called central neurofibromatosis, is completely different from von Recklinghausen disease.

We report on a 5-year-old boy presenting with tethered cord, diastometamyelia, spinal dysraphism, terminal lipoma, spinal epidermoid, and dermal sinus tract with CT, conventional MRI, and diffusion-weighted MRI findings. To the best of our knowledge, our case has the property to be the first case in the literature showing the association of these pathologies all together.
