(1) Background: This study evaluates the predictive effectiveness of biomarkers in diagnosing newborn sepsis. (2) Methods: This was a case-control study conducted on neonates hospitalized at the Clinical Hospital "Louis Turcanu", Timisoara, Romania, from October 2018 to July 2023. High levels of cPHB have been implicated in atherosclerosis and in diabetes. Here, we propose a hypothesis in which cPHB adheres to filaments in the extracellular matrix and this raises intraocular pressure.
