A new subgenus of hard ticks, Filippoviella n. subgen. (Acari: Ixodidae) comprising Ixodes trianguliceps Birula, 1895 and I. ghilarovi Filippova & Panova, 1988, parasites of small mammals in Europe and Asia.

We establish a new subgenus, Filippoviella n. subgen. (Acari: Ixodidae) based on two species formerly assigned to the subgenus Exopalpiger Schulze, 1935 in the genus Ixodes Latreille, 1795.

Hard ticks (Acari: Ixodidae) are the economically and ecologically most important blood-sucking arthropod vectors that can transmit disease agents under temperate climate. In this group, the highest number of species (currently nearing 270) belongs to the genus . For this review, more than 400 papers related to this genus in the context of Russia were checked for data on the host records, locations of collection, as well as ecology of assigned tick species.

TADDOL-based ,-bidentate phosphoramidite ligands in palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution.

A series of easy-to-prepare and modular chiral ,-bidentate phosphoramidites were synthesized. With respect to Pd(II), these ligands showed the ability to form stable ,-chelate allylic complexes. The structures of the ligands and their complexes were confirmed by 2D NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Phylogenetic analyses of Ixodes rugicollis with notes on its morphology in comparison with Ixodes cornutus.

Background: The subgenus Pholeoixodes contains Ixodes species typically associated with birds that nest in cavities or with carnivorous mammals that are burrow-dwelling. Among ticks infesting the latter, Ixodes rugicollis is regarded as the rarest species in the western Palearctic. Despite the unique morphology of this species, its identification (especially of subadult stages) is difficult, and molecular-phylogenetic data to offer other diagnostic methods and a better understanding of its taxonomy are not available.
