Background: The occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are closely related to immune function, as is the capacity of hepatoma cells to escape. Immunosurveillance is a key mechanism. Catgut implantation at acupoint (CIAA) is a promising acupuncture improvement method that can regulate immunity and has been widely used in the clinical treatment of a variety of diseases.

The Upregulation of Trophinin-Associated Protein (TROAP) Predicts a Poor Prognosis in Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

: Trophinin-associated protein (TROAP) is a cytoplasmic protein that plays a significant role in the processes of embryo transplantation and microtubule regulation. However, the relevant survival analysis and cancer progression analysis have not yet been reported. : Eighteen matched pairs of tumor and adjacent non-tumor samples were evaluated to detect the TROAP mRNA level.

Influence of needling the foot-yangming points on intracellular Ca2+ concentration in smooth muscles of the gastric antrum in rabbits.

Objective: To investigate the influence of acupuncture at the points of Foot-Yangming Meridian on intracellular concentration of Ca2, called the 2nd messenger of gastric smooth muscles.

Methods: 45 rabbits were randomly divided into the following 5 groups: a normal saline group, a model group treated with atropine, an acupuncture group treated by needling the points of Foot-Yangming Meridian, an acupuncture group treated by needling the points of Foot-Shaoyang Meridian, an acupuncture group treated by needling the points of Foot-Taiyang Meridian, i.e.

Treatment of the localized neurodermatitis by plum-blossom needle tapping and with the modified yangxue dingfeng tang--a clinical observation of 47 cases.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects of plum-blossom needle tapping combined with the modified yangxue dingfeng tang (a decoction for nourishing the blood and expelling wind) for the localized neurodermatitis.

Methods: 141 cases of the localized neurodermatitis were randomly divided into 3 groups. Forty-seven patients in the treatment group received local tapping and oral medication of the modified yangxue dingfeng tang which consisted of sheng di huang ([Chinese characters: see text] Radix Rehmanniae), dang gui ([Chinese characters: see text] Radix Angelicae Sinensis), chi shao ([Chinese characters: see text] Radix Paeoniae Rubra), tian dong ([Chinese characters: see text] Radix Asparagi), mai dong ([Chinese characters: see text] Radix Ophiopogonis), jiang can ([Chinese characters: see text] Bombyx Batryticatus), mu dan pi ([Chinese characters: see text] Cortex Moutan), chuan xiong ([Chinese characters: see text] Rhizoma Chuanxiong), he shou wu ([Chinese characters: see text] Radix Polygoni Multiflori), and quan xie ([Chinese characters: see text] Scorpio).
