Effects of renal denervation therapy on cardiac function and malignant arrhythmia in patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction and narrow QRS complexes treated with implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of renal denervation (RDN) on cardiac function and malignant arrhythmia in patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (HFrEF) and narrow QRS treated with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). A total of 20 eligible HFrEF patients [left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) <40%] and narrow QRS complexes (QRS duration <120 ms) were randomized into either the ICD plus RDN group or the ICD only group during 17 April 2014 to 22 November 2016. Clinical data, including clinical characteristics, blood biochemistry, B-type natriuretic peptide, echocardiographic indexes, 6-min walk distance (6MWD), New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification, and count of ICD discharge events before and after the operation were analyzed.

Long-term Physical Exercise Improves Finger Tapping of Patients with Alzheimer's Disease.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease that has been characterized by progressive development of long onset early disease with complicated etiology and may cause memory loss, cognitive impairment, and behavioral changes. Physical exercise may play a preventive role in AD. In the present study, we investigated the impact of longer-term physical exercise on the finger tapping of AD patients by comparing the finger tapping of AD patients and healthy controls.

Background: Kinesin family member 18B (KIF18B) is a member of the kinesin-8 superfamily, and functions as an oncogene in human cancers. However, its expression profile and role in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remain unclear.

Materials And Methods: We examined the expression profile of KIF18B using quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry in fresh clinical samples.

Assara inouei Yanmanaka is an important pest of pomegranate fruits in Yunnan Province. To examine the effects of different pomegranate varieties on the development and reproduction of A. inouei, the biological characteristics, such as the developmental duration, the survival rate and reproduction of this pest feeding on five pomegranate varieties including Tianlvzi, Houpitianshazi, Tianguangyan, Suanlvzi and Suanshazi were observed respectively, and the life table parameters were established under the laboratory conditions of (25±1) ℃, RH (70±10)% and a photoperiod of 15 L:9 D.

Simultaneous determination of bisphenols and alkylphenols in water by solid phase extraction and ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

To establish an analytical method for determination of four bisphenols (BPA, BPB, BPF, and BPS) and two alkylphenols (4-n-OP, 4-n-NP) in water by ultra performance liquid chromatography- tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC/MS/MS). The water samples were extracted and condensed with solid-phase extraction (SPE) using C18 cartridges and eluted by acetonitrile. Separation was carried out with Acquity BEH C8 column and detection were performed by UPLC/MS/MS.

Rare syringyl acylated flavonol glycosides from the aerial parts of Leonurus japonicus Houtt.

Five new syringyl acylated flavonol glycosides, named leonurusoides A (1), B (2), C (3), D (4), and E (5), together with one known one 6 were obtained from the aerial parts of Leonurus japonicus. Their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, HRESI-TOF-MS, 1D and 2D NMR). Compounds 1-6 showed triglyceride (TG) accumulation inhibitory effects in free fatty acid-induced HepG2 cells.

Asymmetric dimethylarginine reduced erythrocyte deformability in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

To investigate the effect of asymmetric dimethylarginine on erythrocyte deformability in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ, 65 mg/kg) in male Sprague-Dawley rats was carried out to induce diabetes and normal erythrocytes were incubated with asymmetric dimethylarginine or aortic rings from diabetic rats in the presence of L-arginine or vitamin E. We found that erythrocyte deformability was significantly decreased in diabetic rats. The levels of asymmetric dimethylarginine in plasma and erythrocytes of diabetic rats were elevated significantly from 2-week diabetic duration to 8-week diabetic duration.
