Introduction: Epstein-Barr virus-positive (EBV+) inflammatory follicular dendritic cell (FDC) sarcoma is a rare neoplasm characterized by spindle-shaped follicular dendritic cells, marked lymphoplasmacytic infiltration, and a consistent link to EBV. While it typically affects the liver and spleen, it is exceptionally rare in the digestive tract. We present a special case of EBV + inflammatory FDC sarcoma arising in the colon with clonal immunoglobulin (IG) gene rearrangement.

Background: Some studies show that cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) may improve overall survival and is a possible curative treatment for selected colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with restricted peritoneal metastasis (PM). The value of HIPEC in preventing PM of CRC is still controversial.

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective propensity score matching (PSM) cohort study, all patients with cT4N0-2M0 undergoing treatment at a single institution in China (2014-2018) were reviewed.

As one of the most common malignancies, colorectal cancer (CRC) requires a thorough understanding of the mechanisms that promote its development and the discovery of new therapeutic targets. In this study, immunohistochemical staining confirmed significantly higher expression levels of KIF15 in CRC. qPCR and western blot results demonstrated the effective suppression of KIF15 mRNA and protein expression by shKIF15.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) has become a global health problem which has almost highest morbidity and mortality in all types of cancers. This study aimed to uncover the biological functions and underlying mechanism of MCM8 in the development and progression of CRC. The expression level of MCM8 was found to be upregulated in CRC tissues and significantly associated with tumor grade and patients' survival.

Background: Germline mutations in the APC gene located on chromosome 5q 21-22 can lead to familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and the development of colorectal cancer (CRC) if left untreated. As a rare extracolonic manifestation, thyroid cancer is diagnosed in about 2.6% of FAP patients.

Background: The Clinical Assessment Scale for Autoimmune Encephalitis (CASE), a new scale used for rating the severity of autoimmune encephalitis (AE), has demonstrated good validity and reliability in adults with AE, but there is a shortage of data on its performance in children with AE. This study aimed to assess the reliability and validity of the CASE in a cohort of children with AE.

Methods: Forty-seven pediatric inpatients with AE who visited Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital between January 1, 2017, and October 31, 2021, were enrolled in the study.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the positive rate and test strategies of suspected autoimmune encephalitis (SAE) based on an antibody assay.

Methods: Patients who were diagnosed with suspected autoimmune encephalitis in Guizhou Province between June 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021 and who had anti-neuronal autoantibodies detected by Guizhou KingMed Diagnostics Group Co., Ltd.

The adaptive containment control problem with collision avoidance is investigated for unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). At first, the finite time disturbance observer is developed to present the estimation and compensation of external disturbance. Then, incorporating the artificial potential and radial basis function into the new containment strategy, all followers can enter the convex hull spanned by leaders while the collision is avoided.

Purpose: The identification of high recurrence risk stage II colon cancer patients was critical to adjuvant chemotherapy decision. However, current definition of high-risk features remains inadequate. This study aimed to construct a model for predicting recurrence risk based on tumor enhancement ratio (TER) on abdominal contrast-enhanced CT scan.

Intestinal fibrosis is one of the most severe complications of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and frequently requires surgery due to intestinal obstruction. Integrin αvβ6, which is mainly regulated by the integrin β6 subunit gene (ITGB6), is a special integrin subtype expressed only in epithelial cells. In our previous study, we found integrin αvβ6 can promote the development of IBD, but the role of integrin αvβ6 in intestinal fibrosis remains unclear.

Background: Macrophages play an important role in the host immune response against mycobacterial infection, and this process is regulated by various factors, including circular RNAs (circRNAs). We intended to explore the role of circ_0001490 in tuberculosis (TB) using Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb)-infected THP-1 macrophages.

A 19-year-old male patient who suffered from sudden and repeated multiple organ dysfunction syndrome one month after the bar removal procedure of Nuss surgery for pectus excavatum was admitted to our department. With organ function supportive treatment, the etiology was finally identified to be a bone spur located at the inner border of the left costa due to repeated friction between the implanted steel bar and the rib, which damaged the heart repeatedly and induced the consequent acute cardiac tamponade. After operation, the patient was successfully managed and discharged.

Background: Septic shock comprises a heterogeneous population, and individualized resuscitation strategy is of vital importance. The study aimed to identify subclasses of septic shock with non-supervised learning algorithms, so as to tailor resuscitation strategy for each class.

Methods: Patients with septic shock in 25 tertiary care teaching hospitals in China from January 2016 to December 2017 were enrolled in the study.

Hypoxia plays a key role in colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis, but its underlying mechanism remains largely unknown. Dicer1, an RNase, has been considered as a tumor regulator in many tumors. However, whether Dicer1 affects CRC progression under hypoxia remains uncertain.

Minocycline (MH) is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent and semisynthetic tetracycline derivative, which has been widely used in the clinic due to its efficacy. Having the strongest anti-microbial effect, MH exceeded the traditional scope of antibiotics and its previously unknown antifungal activity is also gradually being discovered. To preliminarily investigate the inhibitory effect of MH on (), changes of cell growth, hyphal formation and transition, biofilm production and signaling pathway gene expression of in the presence of MH were assessed in the present study.

tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) are derived from corresponding tRNAs and have been shown by several studies to be novel biological markers for tumour diagnosis and therapy. However, until now, the effects of tRFs on the progression of colorectal cancer (CRC) and especially on the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) have remained unknown. Our study aimed to assess CRC-related tRFs and examine the effects of key tRFs on CRC progression and related mechanisms.

Integrins, as a large family of cell adhesion molecules, play a crucial role in maintaining intestinal homeostasis. In inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), homeostasis is disrupted. Integrin αvβ6, which is mainly regulated by the integrin β6 subunit gene (ITGB6), is a cell adhesion molecule that mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.

Background: Obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS) is a condition that is frequently caused by rectocele and rectal intussusception. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a modified Bresler procedure for the treatment of ODS. The outcomes of this modified procedure were compared with the stapled transanal rectal resection (STARR) procedure.

In this study, we examine the mechanism of fatigue-crack propagation in 718Plus superalloy at 704 °C under fatigue-creep-environment interactions, in this case, a new turbine disc material used in aero-engines at high temperatures. The effect of creep on the fatigue-crack propagation of the superalloy at high temperature was also researched. There was an unusual inhibitory effect on the propagation of fatigue cracks in 718Plus alloy, in which the propagation rate of fatigue cracks decreased with the increase of creep time through exploration of dwell-fatigue-crack growth (DFCG) test with different creep times.
