Photodynamic therapy (PDT) eradicates tumor cells by the light-stimulated reactive oxygen species, which also induces lipid peroxidation (LPO) and subsequently ferroptosis, an iron-depended cell death. Ferroptosis has a tremendous therapeutic potential in cancer treatment, however, the ferroptosis efficiency is largely limited by the available iron in cells. Through hijacking the CD44-mediated iron endocytosis of hyaluronan (HA), here PDT with enhanced ferroptosis was realized by a HA@Ce6 nanogel self-assembled from HA, a photosensitizer Chlorin e6 (Ce6) and Fe as cross-linkers.

Designing and fabricating nanozymes with photoactivity for CO reduction poses a significant challenge. Here, a hierarchically structured ZFs-tpyNi heterojunction nanozyme, comprising a terpyridine-based Ni complex supported on ZrO nanoframes, has been created through an interfacial engineering strategy for efficient CO reduction under visible light. Due to its unique structural and compositional advantages, ZFs-tpyNi demonstrates superior photocatalytic CO-to-CO conversion compared to its counterpart of ZFs and tpyNi, achieving a CO yield of 18.

Without timely intervention, premature infants with brain injuries often develop intellectual disabilities, causing significant burdens on families and the society. Multiple studies have shown that gut dysbiosis can affect the nervous system, and vice versa.

PavHIPP16 improved cold resistance in Arabidopsis. In response to abiotic stressors, the heavy metal-associated isoprenylated plant protein (HIPP) proteins play a crucial regulatory role.

However, the Ki-67 PI obtained through biopsy has certain limitations. The non-Gaussian distribution diffusion model of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may play an important role in characterizing tissue heterogeneity.

The absorption efficiency of CGA in the stomach and small intestine is relatively low, with approximately 70 % of CGA being metabolized by colonic microorganisms before it enters the bloodstream. In this study, we successfully developed CGA-LMP (Low-methoxy-pectin) conjugates to improve the absorption rate of CGA.

The goal of this study was to explore the potential targets and mechanism of curcumin against NSCLC by network pharmacology, bioinformatics, and experimental validation, thereby providing more insight into combination treatment with curcumin for NSCLC in preclinical and clinical research. Curcumin targets against NSCLC were predicted based on HIT2.

In this study, we collected sediment cores from the Yayao Waterway in Foshan City, China. The vertical distribution profiles of dissolved and labile Fe, Mn, Cd, Zn, Cu, Cr, Ni, Pb, As, and Co in the sediments were obtained using the thin-film diffusive gradient (DGT) and high-resolution peeper (HR-Peeper) techniques.

Cancer is a major category of diseases that need to be addressed urgently, bringing a huge burden to the world. Gastric cancer (GC) is a frequent malignant tumor of the digestive system with the highest incidence and mortality rate among all tumors. The purpose of this study was to explore the mechanism of action of TMEM45A in pan-cancer and gastric cancer.

Methods: 758 patients with low HBsAg quantification who had received nucleos(t)ide analog (NUC) therapy for at least one year and subsequently switched to or add on PEG-IFN therapy over an unfixed course were enrolled. 412 patients were obtained with baseline data matched.
To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a cancer pain information platform combined with semi-implantable intrathecal drug delivery systems among the patients with refractory cancer pain under a "home analgesia" model. This was a retrospective study. A total of 49 patients underwent semi-implantable intrathecal drug delivery systems with patient-controlled analgesia in conjunction with the establishment of a cancer pain information platform.

We aimed to compare the brain functional changes of working memory in patients at different stages: clinical high risk, first-episode psychosis, and long-term schizophrenia, using meta-analyses of functional magnetic resonance imaging studies. Following a systematic literature search, 56 whole-brain task-based functional magnetic resonance imaging studies (15 for clinical high risk, 16 for first-episode psychosis, and 25 for long-term schizophrenia) were included.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) have emerged as one of the most promising energy storage technologies due to their high safety and cost-effectiveness. However, several challenges associated with the Zn metal anode, such as dendrite growth, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), have hindered further applications of AZIBs. Herein, maltose (MT) is used as a functional electrolyte additive to protect the Zn metal electrode during the interface deposition process.

In this paper, the YOLOv8-seg model was used for the automated segmentation of individual leaves in images. In order to improve the segmentation performance, we further introduced a Ghost module and a Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network (BiFPN) module into the standard Yolov8 model and proposed two modified versions.

Results: This study investigated the potential function of PavHIPP16 up-regulated in sweet cherry under cold stress by heterologous overexpression in tobacco. The results showed that the overexpression (OE) lines' growth state was better than wild type (WT), and the germination rate, root length, and fresh weight of OE lines were significantly higher than those of WT.
Danggui-Jianzhong decoction (DGJZ) is a famous classical traditional Chinese medicine formula, which ingredients are complex and the quality is difficult to control.
