Si-rhodamine has been extensively used in super-resolution fluorescence imaging in recent years. Its equilibrium between ring-closed nonfluorescent spirolactones and ring-opened fluorescent zwitterions endows Si-rhodamine with excellent fluorogenicity, membrane permeability, and photostability. In this paper, the equilibrium of Si-rhodamine between lactones and zwitterions was revealed to be greatly affected by various environmental factors, including molecular aggregation, solvent polarity, pH, metal ions, irradiation, and temperature.

Nickel cobalt sulfides (NCS) are regarded as potential energy storage materials due to the versatile valent states and rich electrochemical activity, but their sluggish synthesis process and inferior rate performance hinder them from large-scale application. Herein, microwave-induced strategy has been employed for efficient synthesis of honeycomb-like NCS/graphene composites, which are explored as ultrahigh rate battery-type electrodes for supercapacitors. Due to the internal heat mechanism, the synthesis time of NCS by microwave could be shortened from hours to minutes.

Design, Setting, And Participants: Community-dwelling individuals with chronic untreated schizophrenia (untreated patient group) and individuals without mental illness (control group) were recruited from predominantly rural communities in Ningxia, China between June 20, 2016, and August 6, 2019, and administered the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV, the Mini-Mental State Examination, an 8-test version of the MATRICS Consensus Cognition Battery adapted for use in individuals with low levels of education, and a measure of social cognition.

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) largely increases operative chances and improves prognosis of the local advanced breast cancer patients. However, no specific means have been invented to predict the therapy responses of patients receiving NAC. Therefore, we focus on the alterations of tumor tissue-related microenvironments such as stromal tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes status, cyclin-dependent kinase expression, non-coding RNA transcription or other small molecular changes, in order to detect potentially predicted biomarkers which reflect the therapeutic efficacy of NAC in different subtypes of breast cancer.

The RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs) retinoic acid-inducible gene I protein (RIG-I) and melanoma differentiation-associated protein 5 (MDA5) are cytosolic pattern recognition receptors that recognize specific viral RNA products and initiate antiviral innate immunity. Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) is a highly pathogenic member of the RIG-I, but not MDA5, has been suggested to sense some bunyavirus infections; however, the roles of RLRs in anti-SFTSV immune responses remain unclear. Here, we show that SFTSV infection induces an antiviral response accompanied by significant induction of antiviral and inflammatory cytokines and that RIG-I plays a main role in this induction by recognizing viral 5'-triphosphorylated RNAs and by signaling via the adaptor mitochondrial antiviral signaling protein.
