This study presents a graphene field-effect transistor (gFET) biosensor with dual detection capabilities for SARS-CoV-2: one RNA detection assay to confirm viral positivity and the other for nucleocapsid (N-)protein detection as a proxy for infectiousness of the patient. This technology can be rapidly adapted to emerging infectious diseases, making an essential tool to contain future pandemics. To detect viral RNA, the highly conserved E-gene of the virus was targeted, allowing for the determination of SARS-CoV-2 presence or absence using nasopharyngeal swab samples.

All patients were examined at the following three time points (TPs): preoperative period (TP1), postoperative at 24 h (TP2), and discharge (TP3).

Titanium-Niobium (TiNb) alloys are commonly employed in a number of implantable devices, yet concerns exist regarding their use in implantology owing to the biomechanical mismatch between the implant and the host tissue. Therefore, to balance the mechanical performance of the load-bearing implant with bone, TiNb alloys with differing porosities were fabricated by powder metallurgy combined with spacer material. Microstructures and phase constituents were characterized with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Methods: A total of 38 male Wistar Albino rats were divided into five groups as follows: control group (group C,=6), diabetic group (group D,=6), diabetic ozone group (group DO,n=6), diabetic-ischemia/reperfusion (group DIR,=6), diabetic-ischemia/reperfusion-ozone (group DIRO,=6). Six rats died during this period and two died because of surgical complications.

This article discusses marginalization of the regression parameters in mixed models for correlated binary outcomes. As is well known, the regression parameters in such models have the "subject-specific" (SS) or conditional interpretation, in contrast to the "population-averaged" (PA) or marginal estimates that represent the unconditional covariate effects. We describe an approach using numerical quadrature to obtain PA estimates from their SS counterparts in models with multiple random effects.
