Objectives: This study aims to determine the role of preoperative cystoscopy in specifying the degree of placental invasion to the bladder in the placenta accreta spectrum (PAS), especially in percreta.

Material And Methods: This prospective observational cohort study included 78 PAS patients. All included patients underwent the preoperative cystoscopy before the cesarean hysterectomy operation.

Objectives: It is believed that there are still unclear areas in the formation mechanism of leiomyomas. In our study, it was aimed to investigate the formation mechanisms of leiomyomas due to local MED 12 gene exon 2 mutation and local microRNA-124 expression in a Turkish population.

Material And Methods: Thirty patients who underwent hysterectomy for leiomyoma uteri at Gaziantep University between January 2013 and January 2016 were included in our study.

Objectives: Our study aims to evaluate the effect of bilateral prophylactic internal iliac artery ligation (IIAL) on bleeding in patients with placenta percreta who undergo cesarean hysterectomy (CH) with the use of blunt dissection technique.

Material And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 96 patients with placenta percreta who underwent planned CH with using the blunt dissection technique to allow better vesico-uterine dissection at the gynecology and obstetrics unit of a university hospital between the years 2017-2019. We carried out bilateral IIAL before CH in the study group (group 1) while we performed only CH in the control group (group 2).

Automatic diagnosis of the Alzheimer's disease as well as monitoring of the diagnosed patients can make significant economic impact on societies. We investigated an automatic diagnosis approach through the use of speech based features. As opposed to standard tests, spontaneous conversations are carried and recorded with the subjects.

The aim of this study was to determine the frequencies of chromosomal aberrations (CA) and cytochalasin-blocked micronuclei (CBMN) in peripheral blood lymphocytes from Turkish coke oven workers and the influence of CYP1A1, CYP1B1, EPHX1, GSTM1, GSTT1, and GSTP1 gene polymorphisms on these biomarkers. Cytogenetic analysis showed that occupational exposure significantly increased the CA and CBMN frequencies. Gene polymorphisms, on the other hand, did not affect CA or CBMN in either exposed or control subjects.

Objectives: Calcium accumulation in the coronary arteries is a known indicator of atherosclerosis. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the effect of patients' demographic characteristics on calcium scoring and the topographic accumulation of calcium in the coronary arteries.

Study Design: Two-hundred ninety-nine patients were included in the study (192 male, 107 female; mean age 59.

Acquired pseudoaneurysm of the left ventricle is a very rare disorder and mostly occurs after large transmural myocardial infarction (MI) with peak creatine phosphokinase-MB levels greater than 150 IU/mL. Patients developing left ventricular (LV) pseudoaneurysm usually present with angina or heart failure symptoms. Although different imaging modalities exist, coronary angiography is the gold standard for diagnosis.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the intravenous bolus dose of tirofiban with intracoronary bolus dose in primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with regard to in hospital and six months clinical outcomes and peak cardiac enzyme levels.

Methods: We retrospectively examined 84 ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients who underwent primary PCI from March 2006 to February 2007. All patients received the systemic bolus dose of tirofiban 10 mcg/kg either via intracoronary (IC) or intravenous (IV) route, followed by a 36 hours of IV infusion at 0.

Background: The aims of this study were to evaluate subclinical regional right ventricular (RV) dysfunction in newly diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients without systemic and pulmonary arterial (PA) hypertension, and to correlate OSA severity to RV dysfunction, using both velocity vector imaging (VVI)-derived strain imaging and tissue Doppler imaging (TDI).

Methods And Results: The OSA group consisted of 27 patients and the control group consisted of 26 healthy participants. All participants underwent 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare treatment of saphenous vein graft (SVG) lesions with paclitaxel-eluting (PES) and sirolimus-eluting stents (SES) in daily practice with regard to short- and long-term clinical outcomes.

Methods: Between August 2002 and September 2006, a total of 71 patients with SVG lesions who were implanted PES or SES with percutaneous coronary intervention in our center were evaluated retrospectively. Forty-six patients with PES (PES group) were compared to twenty-five patients treated with SES (SES group) in terms of in-hospital, 30-day, six-months and 1-year clinical outcomes.

Drug-eluting stents (DES) have been proven to be effective in reducing restenosis after percutaneous coronary interventions, but they are associated with a risk of late thrombotic occlusion with adverse clinical events. We report a case of an angiographically confirmed paclitaxel-eluting stent (PES) thrombosis which occurred 36 months after successful stent implantation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the most delayed case of PES thrombosis described so far.

Background: Coronary slow flow (CSF) is characterized by delayed opacification of epicardial arteries in the absence of occlusive disease. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the relation between coronary flow rate, plasma endothelin-1 (ET-1) concentrations, and clinical characteristics in patients with normal coronary arteries.

Methods: The study population included 77 patients with angiographically normal coronary arteries who underwent coronary angiography on suspicion of ischemic heart disease due to typical chest pain or ischemic findings on treadmill exercise test or myocardial scintigraphy.

Objective: To investigate the effects of phase II cardiac rehabilitation in 52 patients undergone coronary artery bypass surgery.

Methods: Gradual walking tests, cardio-pulmonary capacity tests and lipid profile were administered to patients selected for phase II cardiac rehabilitation before and after the programme. Training was started on 12-channel electrocardiogram controlled running bands 3 times a week for 20 min periods for 12 weeks fitting the programme.

This paper investigates the relative role of the impairment of insulin secretion and action in the pathogenesis of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The parameters indicating insulin secretion and action were calculated from the data obtained during oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), in 156 age- and sex-matched T2DM patients divided in 4 groups according to their body mass index (BMI, I = 20.0-24.

Lp(a) is a unique class of lipoprotein particles that exhibits a considerable size heterogeneity resulting from the size polymorphism of apo(a), its unique protein component. An elevated level of Lp(a) in plasma has been proposed to be a risk factor for premature development of coronary artery disease. To evaluate the relationship between Lp(a) concentration and apo(a) isoform size with restenosis after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, Lp(a) levels and apo(a) phenotypes were determined in 204 patients who underwent a successful coronary angioplasty procedure and stent implantation.

This is a case report of a twenty-two-year-old woman who had attacks of ventricular tachycardia that could be prevented by the use of various antiarrhythmic drugs for three months. Electrophysiologic study showed that the mechanism of the tachycardia was "reentry." In cardiac catheterization a non-contractile mass having calcification was seen on the apical portion of the left ventricle.
