We report a nosocomial outbreak caused by a multidrug-resistant carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae (MDRCPKp), that was detected in six patients admitted to the medical intensive care unit between 20th of December 2023 and 15th of January 2024 in Ankara, Turkey. The investigation of this outbreak was started on 29th of December 2023. During the outbreak 11 samples were collected from the six patients with MDRCPKp.

Methods: This study included 261 cervical cancer patients treated with ChRT. The primary endpoints were the predictors of local recurrence (LR) and distant metastasis (DM), whereas the secondary endpoints were LRFS and DMFS.
Breast cancer treatment encompasses various therapeutic modalities, including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Breast-conserving surgery has been an integral part of breast cancer management. However, radiotherapy, an important component of breast cancer management, can lead to complications, particularly fibrosis, affecting reconstructive surgery outcomes.

These honeys were analyzed for 35 important and risky antibiotics (sulfonamide, tetracycline, macrolide, cephalosporin, aminoglycoside, quinolone, nitrofuran, chloramphenicol, and anthelmintic groups) by the LC-MS/MS multi-antibiotic method. In addition to these analyses, pH measure, moisture, and electrical conductivity were determined in these honey samples.

These foods were analyzed for twelve toxicological important mycotoxins, such as aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), aflatoxin B2 (AFB2), aflatoxin G1 (AFG1), and aflatoxin G2 (AFG2); fumonisin B1 (FB1) and fumonisin B2 (FB2); ochratoxin A (OTA); sterigmatocystin (STE); deoxynivalenol (DON); zearalenone (ZON); T-2 toxin (T2); and HT-2 toxin (HT2) by the LC-MS/MS multi-mycotoxin method. In addition to this analysis, the presence of total aerobic mesophilic bacteria was investigated in the samples.

Baby foods were analyzed for 12 toxicological important mycotoxins such as aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, and G2; fumonisin B1 and B2; ochratoxin A; sterigmatocystin (STE); deoxynivalenol (DON); zearalenone (ZON); and T-2 toxin and HT-2 toxin by LC-MS/MS multi-mycotoxin method. In addition to these mycotoxins, the presence of aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) was investigated in baby foods containing milk.

The water-soluble fluorescent SiQD was synthesized based on the reaction of 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and sodium citrate as precursors by the one-pot hydrothermal process. The strong fluorescence emission of quantum dots (QDs) was obtained at 440 nm when excited at 350 nm and OTC had a broad absorption band between 200 and 400 nm.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the seasonal evaluation of some hematological and biochemical parameters of the Olympic Greco-Roman wrestlers.
Methods: A total of three measurements were performed on wrestlers: immediately before the training period, three months and six months after the training session.
The effects of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP-70% CO/30%N) and iron-based oxygen scavengers (OS) with various absorption capacities (Ageless ss100, ss300, and ss500) as an active packaging system on microbiological and oxidative changes in chicken thigh meats were evaluated during refrigerated storage (4°C) for 19 d at 3-day intervals. Total aerobic mesophilic bacteria counts exceeded the acceptability limit at d 7 in the control group without MAP (AIR), and at d 19 in MAP and OS containing samples. OS utilization resulted in around 1.

Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA) is a benign vascular tumor occurring in young males. Treatment of JNA is a complex procedure, especially in advanced cases with a high risk of major complications. We report the clinical, radiological and histological specialties of a rare case of recurrent JNA 3 years after radiation therapy in an 18-year-old boy.

This method is based on the quenching of the phosphorescence signal of quantum dots by the interaction with melamine. Under optimum conditions, phosphorescence intensity was quenched by various concentrations of melamine in a linear range from 50 to 500ng/mL, with a detection limit of 5.

Background: Columnar cell lesions (CCLs) with or without atypia frequently coexist with invasive or in situ breast carcinomas. In this study, 39 mastectomy specimens containing CCLs coexisting with invasive carcinomas were retrospectively analyzed for cellular characteristics and structural pattern of CCL neighboring the tumor.
Materials And Methods: The expression of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and p53 antibodies in CCL and coexisting invasive tumors, type of invasive tumor, histopathologic grade, and presence of atypia in CCL have been studied.
Approximately 30% of patients with thyroid nodules have indeterminate or suspicious fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy results. These patients usually undergo thyroidectomy because of cancer risk. Our aim was to determine diagnostic value of cyclin A and cyclin B1 immunohistochemistry added to routine cytology and their expression on histological sections.

Amplification and/or overexpression of HER-2/neu has been reported to be associated with poor prognosis in breast cancer. One single-nucleotide polymorphism at codon 655 indicates a guanine-to-adenine substitution (Ile655Val) in the transmembrane domain-coding region of the HER-2/neu gene reported to be associated with increased risk of breast cancer. However, several studies have shown that this association is controversial.
