Investigation of oral health findings and genotype correlations in osteogenesis imperfecta.

Osteogenesis imperfecta, a common genetic connective tissue disorder affecting bone with multisystemic implications, is caused by genomic alterations at various levels that disrupt the biosynthesis stages of collagen Type I. This study evaluated the intraoral and clinical findings of 43 OI cases in relation to genetic variants, aiming to contribute new insights into the roles of collagen and non-collagen genes in the oral-dental pathology of OI. Significant associations were found between OI variants and dental anomalies such as dentinogenesis imperfecta, enamel hypoplasia, taurodontism, and hypodontia.

Tricine-modified chitosan as a strategy for enhancing hydrophilicity and gene delivery.

In this study, we investigated the effect of chitosan modification with tricine on transfection efficiency by preserving its ability to form complexes with plasmid DNA (pDNA) and increasing its hydrophilicity. The inherent limitations of chitosan, such as poor solubility at physiological pH, insufficient cellular uptake, and strong ionic interactions with pDNA, typically result in low transfection efficiency. To overcome these challenges, Tricine, a hydrophilic molecule containing a secondary amine group, was conjugated to chitosan.

The PEI questionnaire (PEI-Q), a patient-reported outcome questionnaire developed to diagnose and evaluate PEI, is available only in English. The study aimed to provide a Turkish translation of PEI-Q and validate its reliability and diagnostic performance in a Turkish-speaking population with PEI.

This study investigated the effects of pure and methyl-β-cyclodextrin loaded forms of resveratrol (10 µg/mL, 20 µg/mL, and 40 µg/mL) on ram sperm functions post-thawing. Semen samples were pooled and divided into ten groups: Control, RES10, RES20, RES40, CD10, CD20, CD40, RLC10, RLC20, and RLC40.
