The influence of aero-abrasive technology on the microroughness of the ceramic samples standardized in shape, structure, and manufacturing method was studied by comparing the results obtained from the action of alumina particles of 27 and 50 μm size under a pressure of 0.5 and 2 atm for 5 seconds at a distance of 3 cm. To objectify the features of the treated surface relief its micro-roughness has been studied.

Article Synopsis
  • Wilson’s disease (WND) is a rare genetic disorder analyzed in a study of 62 Chinese patients, revealing distinct ATP7B mutations specific to the Chinese population.
  • The study identified 40 mutations, including 14 novel ones, with notable common mutations being p.Arg778Leu and p.Pro992Leu, which correlate with different clinical manifestations and diagnostic characteristics.
  • Findings suggest that genetic testing, particularly for key exons and common mutations, is crucial for early detection of WND in young children, emphasizing its importance in clinical practice.

In order to investigate the possible role of pancreatic beta-cell p(64-69) antigens in the development of diabetes type 1, a monoclonal antibody (ICA-1) to the 64-69 kDa antigen family was produced and characterized. Short-term (0.25 mg per rat, intraperitoneally, daily for 9 days) and prolonged (0.

The purpose of this study was the generation of monoclonal antibodies (MoAB) ICA-1 to p64 antigen of pancreatic beta cells and the comparative analysis of MoAB and insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) patients' serum reactivity with cultivated islet cells. It was found that MoAB ICA-1 reacted with the surface of beta cells in suspension but with cytoplasm in frozen pancreatic sections. That MoAB ICA-1 and ICSA- or ICA-positive IDDM serum on insulin release in islet cell cultures produce similar effects was established.
