Adding noise to a system can 'improve' its dynamic behaviour, for example, it can increase its response or signal-to-noise ratio. The corresponding phenomenon, called stochastic resonance, has found numerous applications in physics, neuroscience, biology, medicine and mechanics. Replacing stochastic excitations with high-frequency ones was shown to be a viable approach to analysing several linear and nonlinear dynamic systems.

A popliteal artery aneurysm is a rare disease and therefore it seems currently important to investigate peculiarities of surgical treatment of this pathology. Our study included a total of 60 patients (62 limbs) operated on for popliteal artery aneurysms with various complications. In order to assess the obtained findings the patients were subdivided into 3 groups depending on emergency of rendering surgical care.

Ours was a retrospective study including a total of 110 patients who endured 57 femoropopliteal (distal) and 54 femorotibial bypasses by means of both an autovein and a xenograft used as a shunt. The indications for reconstructive operation in the majority of cases was critical ischaemia induced by an atherosclerotic lesion of the femoropoplitealtibial segment corresponding to type D according to the TASC II classification.

Variability was evaluated by day, night and diurnal SBP and DBP according to the results of daily monitoring of blood pressure, as well as intra-individual (short-term) and visit-to-visit blood pressure variability (seven consecutive days) (medium-term).

The method has been developed for the quantitative determination of barium, lead, and antimony in the targets depending on the gunshot distance.

Patients with FDDM-1 were divided into 2 subgroups in line with clinical characteristic of endocrinopathy debut.

Physical work ability was assessed in 128 patients with a long duration of type 1 diabetes mellitus and 36 practically healthy people by K. Wasserman stepwise standard loading test with permanent monitoring of the load, oxygen consumption, and respiratory coefficient. Oxygen consumption was calculated per 1 kg body mass, and anaerobic metabolism threshold was determined.

Regularities of allocation of stibium subject to the distance of the shot were determined. Practical recommendations for expert conclusion about the distance of the shot were given on the grounds of the results of the study.

External respiratory mechanics was studied in 141 patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM1) and 36 healthy controls using computed analysis of flow-volume loop and total body plethysmography. The DM1 patients were divided into 4 groups: group 1 consisted of patients without clinical signs of microangiopathic complications; groups 2 and 3 consisted of patients with initial and advanced manifestations of late diabetic syndrome (LDS), respectively; group 4 consisted of patients suffering from severe endocrinopathy with end-stage chronic renal failure. The velocity and volume parameters in groups 1 and 2 did not differ significantly from those in the controls.

Distribution of the shot soot on the targets in shooting from the distance up to 1 m is analyzed.

A combination of experimental shots with emission spectral analysis of the objects of the study and targets is validated for determination of the patron characteristics and composition as well as shooting diastance.

Based on the current concept of the obvious prevalence of surgical treatment of vascular angiodysplasias over low-invasive methods of interventional radiology, the author assesses the capacities of sclerotic therapy performed by the improved visual controlling procedure. By using the well-known semiotics of ultrasound studies of angiodysplasias, the author has made significant methodological amendments to the techniques of sclerotic therapy. The principle of the proposed procedure is a result of complex use of the potentialities of ultrasound visualization and interventional X-ray contrast studies of the vascular system.

Patsch. The lipoprotein spectrum in abdominally obese patients was characterized by high atherogenicity of lipoprotein spectrum on an empty stomach aggravating under fat intake: prolongation of postprandial lipemia up to 6 hours with growing apoB and apoB/A1.

The morphology of the above wounds and specific features of deposition of "shot metals" in the damaged region were studied. The possibilities of fixing a shot distance and ammunition type were defined.

Having many-year experience with angiographic interventions, the authors examined the potentialities of ultrasonic angioscanning to monitor the implementation of endovascular interventions (EVI). During the study, they developed an original procedure of different EVI with intraoperative ultrasonic monitoring, refined the ultrasonic semiotics of the procedure, achieved positive results in preventing possible complications. The authors made indications for the procedure and rational ways of its application more concrete.

All data of radiation diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) were compared with those of operations and morphological studies of the resected fragments of the aortic parts changed due to aneurysms. These comparisons provided a detailed characterization of the potentialities of CT performed on a third-generation unit in the presurgical diagnosis of this abnormality.
