[Prospects of endoscopic technology for diagnostics of inflammatory periodontal disease].

The aim of the study was to analyze research methods for periodontitis severity and elaborate the most effective diagnostic combination. Twenty patients with moderate periodontal disease were included in the study. In addition to conventional diagnostic methods depth of periodontal pockets (PP) was measured by means of endoscopic system and cone bean CT.

[Solid-phase immunoenzyme analysis of alpha-fetoprotein in human blood serum].

A test system for enzyme immunoassay of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) was developed on the basis of the diagnostic agents manufactured by the N. F. Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.

[Pathogenic action of the plague microbe on the flea Xenopsylla cheopis and the ultrastructure of the causative agent at various times of its stay in the vector].

Pathology of gastro-intestinal tract of Xenopsylla cheopis fleas infected with plague microbe was determined by means of electron microscopy. Ultrastructure of plague microbe during different periods of its stay in the vector was studied.

[Determination of alpha-fetoprotein in the serum of pregnant women by rocket-linear immunoelectrophoresis].

Rocket-linear immunoelectrophoresis enabled to estimate the alpha-fetoprotein content in blood serum of pregnant women. Sensitivity of the procedure constituted as low as 13-22 ng of the protein per I ml of blood serum. Concentration of the protein in blood serum depended on the period of pregnancy; middle values of normal content of alpha-fetoprotein in blood serum were estimated within various periods of pregnancy in women of the district studied.

[Macrophagic transformation inhibition phenomenon of peripheral blood mononucleocytes in breast cancer].

Macrophagal transformation of mononuclear cells of peripheral blood was evaluated quantitatively in vitro. The study group included 60 patients with breast cancer stages II-IV and 50 healthy subjects. Transformation of mononuclear cells to macrophages in breast cancer patients, particularly, in advanced cases, was found to be reduced, as compared with healthy controls.

[The proventriculus of the Xenopsylla cheopis flea studied by scanning electron microscopy].

The proventriculus of the flea X. cheopis was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy. The external surface of the proventriculus is a rigid structure with an alveolate surface ("wasp nest") formed by muscular cords.

[The effect of stimulators of immunoglobulin biosynthesis on the phenomenon of lymphocyte transformation by macrophages].

The effect of pyrogenal and of the adjuvant of Freund's type on transformation of blood lymphocytes into macrophagal cells was studied. Experiments were conducted on rabbits with the use of the method of lymphocyte culture in vitro. These stimulants of immunogenesis increased the intensity of the process of lymphocyte transformation in a culture.
