Follicular lymphoma (FL) exhibits considerable variability in biological features and clinical trajectories across patients. To dissect the diversity of FL, we utilized a Bernoulli mixture model to identify genetic subtypes in 713 pre-treatment tumor tissue samples. Our analysis revealed the existence of five subtypes with unique genetic profiles that correlated with clinicopathological characteristics.

Lymphomas with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) or high-grade morphology with both MYC and BCL2 rearrangements are classified as high-grade B-cell lymphoma with MYC and BCL2 rearrangements ("double hit"; HGBCL-DH-BCL2) and are associated with aggressive disease and poor outcomes. Although it is established that MYC rearrangements involving immunoglobulin (IG) loci are associated with inferior outcomes relative to those involving other non-IG superenhancers, the frequency of and mechanisms driving IG vs non-IG MYC rearrangements have not been elucidated.

This study aimed to evaluate the clinicopathological, and radiological characteristics of the patients diagnosed with primary breast MALT lymphoma.
Methods: This study examined 18 cases of primary MALT lymphoma of the breast diagnosed at a single tertiary center between January 2002 to December 2020.
Cold agglutinin disease (CAD) is a rare B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder of the bone marrow, manifested by autoimmune hemolytic anemia caused by binding of monoclonal IgM autoantibodies to the I antigen. Underlying genetic changes have previously been reported, but their impact on gene expression profile has been unknown. Here, we define differentially expressed genes in CAD B cells.

Methods: Retrospective French multicenter study including patients with MEN1 pHPT who underwent [F]fluorocholine PET/CT at initial diagnosis or for evaluation of persistent/recurrent disease. PET/CT were independently reviewed by two readers in a blinded manner.
Objectives: Primary cold agglutinin disease is a type of autoimmune hemolytic anemia caused by circulating antibodies against I antigen, a carbohydrate expressed on most cells, including red blood cells. The underlying disease has been characterized in recent years as a distinct B-cell lymphoproliferative disease of the bone marrow, occurring mostly in the elderly. The disease has been now been included as a separate entity in the most recent classifications of mature B-cell neoplasms.

(Ascomycota, Hypocreales, Ophiocordycipitaceae) is a classic entomopathogenic fungus that parasitizes ants (Hymenoptera, Ponerinae, Ponerini). Nonetheless, according to our results, this fungal species also exhibits a complete set of genes coding for plant cell wall degrading Carbohydrate-Active enZymes (CAZymes), enabling a full endophytic stage and, consequently, its dual ability to both parasitize insects and live inside plant tissue. The main objective of our study was the sequencing and full characterization of the genome of the fungal strain of (CCMB661) and its predicted secretome.

Assessing the structure of networks composed of the interactions between those partners leads to a better understanding of ecosystem functioning and the effects of environmental factors on ecological processes. Gathering such data is, however, costly and time-consuming, especially in the highly diverse tropics.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA major challenge in human genetics is of the analysis of the interplay between genetic and epigenetic factors in a multifactorial disease like cancer. Here, a novel methodology is proposed to investigate genome-wide regulatory mechanisms in cancer, as studied with the example of follicular Lymphoma (FL). In a first phase, a new machine-learning method is designed to identify Differentially Methylated Regions (DMRs) by computing six attributes.

The current definition of CD30 positivity by immunohistochemistry is descriptive and based on reactivity in lymphomas that are defined by their universal strong expression of CD30, rather than any established threshold.

Some ant species are capable of thelytokous parthenogenesis, a type of asexual reproduction where females develop from unfertilized diploid eggs. Thelytoky is well-documented in more than 20 ant species.

Based on our review of the literature, there are only 8 case reports describing concurrent primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and teratoma. Here, we report the first case of primary follicular lymphoma concurrent with mature ovarian cystic teratoma, which, to our knowledge, has not been described in the literature.

As a chronic inflammation, sarcoidosis typically manifests with an insidious onset and slowly progressive course. We report a case of acute-onset proptosis resulting from a rapidly growing diffuse orbital mass that simulated malignant growth, which was biopsy proven to be the first manifestation of systemic sarcoidosis.

Here, we provide a comprehensive inventory of ant species and their distribution in Par. This regional list is based on an extensive review of species records from published and unpublished sources covering a period of 134 years (18862020) and includes the five most representative ant collections in Brazil.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAnts, an ecologically successful and numerically dominant group of animals, play key ecological roles as soil engineers, predators, nutrient recyclers, and regulators of plant growth and reproduction in most terrestrial ecosystems. Further, ants are widely used as bioindicators of the ecological impact of land use. We gathered information of ant species in the Atlantic Forest of South America.

For example, marginal zone lymphomas (MZLs) can be difficult to rule-in, in large part because no widely-used, sensitive, and specific biomarker is available for the marginal zone cell of origin. In this study, it was hypothesized that DNA methylation array profiling can assist with the classification of SBCLs, including MZLs.

They are predominantly anaplastic lymphoma kinase-negative anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALK-negative ALCL) characterized by CD30 positivity universally. Whilst the majority of primary breast lymphomas occurring in the absence of breast implants are of B-cell origin, there are few cases of implant-associated B-cell lymphomas reported to date in the literature, a subset of which are diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

The chaperone HSP90 has been identified as a key component of the molecular machinery regulating canalization and a growing body of research suggests that HSP90 could act as a general capacitator in evolution. However, empirical data about HSP90-dependent phenotypic variation and its evolutionary impact is still scarce, particularly for non-model species.

Remnant native forest patches are essential refugia for flora and fauna and are crucial for the maintenance of ecosystem processes in urbanized landscapes. We evaluated the influence of landscape structure on ants and spiders associated with Atlantic Forest remnants in urban landscapes.
