One way to treat diabetes mellitus type II is by using α-glucosidase inhibitor, that will slow down the postprandial glucose intake. Metabolomics analysis of Artabotrys sumatranus leaf extract was used in this research to predict the active compounds as α-glucosidase inhibitors from this extract. Both multivariate statistical analysis and machine learning approaches were used to improve the confidence of the predictions.

Apolipoprotein E (APOE) is a major cholesterol carrier responsible for lipid transport and injury repair in the brain. The human APOE gene (h-APOE) has 3 naturally occurring alleles: ε3, the common allele; ε4, which increases Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk up to 15-fold; and ε2, the rare allele which protects against AD. Although APOE4 has negative effects on neurocognition in old age, its persistence in the population suggests a survival advantage.

Standardized training nurses's humanistic care practice ability: A cross-sectional survey in western China during COVID-19.

Aim: This study aims to investigate the current status and determinants of humanistic care practice abilities among standardized training nurses in China during the post-COVID-19 era, as well as to propose management strategies.

Design: A cross-sectional study.

Methods: Deliberately chosen were 517 standardized training nursing students from a provincial-level training facility in western China.

Therefore, a better characterization of the immunological profile of apoptotic MSCs (ApoMSCs) could shed light on their mechanistic action and therapeutic applications.

Qualitative Analysis of Men's Involvement in Family Planning in The Philippines: An Ecological Assessment.

While family planning (FP) programs have the capacity to empower women, support gender equality, and reduce poverty, male involvement is an influential factor for the uptake of FP that has been lacking. In the past decade, there have been more progressive FP policies and growing attention on male involvement in FP in the Philippines, providing an opportunity to develop evidence-based interventions to better integrate men into FP services by approaching care delivery from a family-focused perspective. This paper sought to understand the current role of men in FP services and explore how to strengthen facilitators and overcome barriers to optimize men's involvement in FP in the Philippines.

Research Progress on Psychological Distress in Patients with Ectopic Pregnancy in China.

Ectopic pregnancy is a leading cause of death for child-bearing aged women. Most patients with ectopic pregnancy experience suffer psychological distress which seriously affects their physical and mental health. The psychological distress, influencing factors, measurement tools, and nursing interventions in patients with ectopic pregnancy in China are reviewed in this article.

Improving the quality of family planning services in the Philippines: Barriers and opportunities.

We conducted qualitative research with family planning clients, potential clients, and service providers on barriers and opportunities for improving the quality of family planning services in the Philippines. The family planning service providers included the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of the health system. Our goal was to aid in developing more effective family planning quality improvement (QI) programs.

Assessing the agreement between the partners at care transitions measure and the care transitions measure for elderly patients with chronic diseases.

Background: Elderly patients with chronic diseases are very vulnerable during the transition from hospital to home and have a high need for transitional care. The quality of transitional care is closely related to patient health outcomes. Using appropriate scales to evaluate the quality of transitional care is important for efforts aimed at improving it.

A meta-analysis of deltoid ligament on ankle joint fracture combining deltoid ligament injury.

Purpose: Ankle fracture combined with deltoid ligament (DL) injury results in decreased stability of ankle mortise, reduced contact surface between tibial and talus, increased local stress, and increased postoperative complications. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the postoperative effects of repairing ligaments in ankle fractures with DL rupture.

Methods: According to the steps of the Cochrane systematic review, the related literatures from PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Library Databases were retrieved as of September 1, 2021, and all relevant randomized controlled trials and retrospective studies were collected.

Profile and predictors of high school teachers' attitude and self-efficacy in utilizing ICT: an investigation from Indonesia.

This study investigated the relationship among several predictors that could influence high school teachers' attitudes and self-efficacy in utilizing ICT, such as length of computer use, computer competencies, computer access, computer training, and frequency of using computer programs. Quantitative study through descriptive and correlational design has been used to answer the hypothesis of this study. A total of 345 active high school teachers participated in this study.

Protocol for inducing cellular ablation in the mouse atrioventricular conduction system.

Damage to the atrioventricular conduction system (AVCS), the main electrical connection between the atrial and ventricular chambers, can result in a variety of cardiac conduction disorders. Here, we provide a protocol for selective damage of the mouse AVCS to study its response during injury. We describe tamoxifen-induced cellular ablation, detection of AV block through electrocardiography, and quantification of histological and immunofluorescence markers to analyze the AVCS.

Utility of laboratory and immune biomarkers in predicting disease progression and mortality among patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 disease at a Philippine tertiary hospital.

Purpose: This study was performed to determine the clinical biomarkers and cytokines that may be associated with disease progression and in-hospital mortality in a cohort of hospitalized patients with RT-PCR confirmed moderate to severe COVID-19 infection from October 2020 to September 2021, during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic before the advent of vaccination.

Patients And Methods: Clinical profile was obtained from the medical records. Laboratory parameters (complete blood count [CBC], albumin, LDH, CRP, ferritin, D-dimer, and procalcitonin) and serum concentrations of cytokines (IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-18, IFN-γ, IP-10, TNF-α) were measured on Days 0-3, 4-10, 11-14 and beyond Day 14 from the onset of illness.

Facilitators and inhibitors in hospital-to-home transitional care for elderly patients with chronic diseases: A meta-synthesis of qualitative studies.

Background: Chronic diseases are long-term, recurring and prolonged, requiring frequent travel to and from the hospital, community, and home settings to access different levels of care. Hospital-to-home transition is challenging travel for elderly patients with chronic diseases. Unhealthy care transition practices may be associated with an increased risk of adverse outcomes and readmission rates.

Research progress on humanistic care ability and influencing factors of intern nursing students.

This paper is dedicated to reviewing relative research on humanistic caring ability of intern nursing students and proposing strategies to improve humanistic caring ability. Firstly, current paper collected information from both domestic and foreign literature, and then scientific analysis, summary and overview of research results were conducted with regards to humanistic caring ability of interns nursing students. By analyzing the current situation of intern nursing students' humanistic caring ability, and factors that have influence on humanistic caring ability of intern nursing students, the present paper is determined to come up with feasible change methods and form strategic paths.

Visible-Light Activation of Persulfate or HO by FeO/TiO Immobilized on Glass Support for Photocatalytic Removal of Amoxicillin: Mechanism, Transformation Products, and Toxicity Assessment.

FeO/TiO nanocomposites were fabricated via a facile impregnation/calcination technique employing different amounts iron (III) nitrate onto commercial TiO (P25 Aeroxide). The as-prepared FeO/TiO nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy (RS), scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEM/EDXS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis (BET), electron impedance spectroscopy (EIS), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). As a result, 5% () FeO/TiO achieved the highest photocatalytic activity in the slurry system and was successfully immobilized on glass support.

Experiences of family caregivers of patients with post-traumatic hydrocephalus from hospital to home: a qualitative study.

Background: Post-traumatic hydrocephalus (PTH) is a complication of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that requires treatment and postoperative care. The shunt is one of the main treatments for PTH, which presents with dysfunction and infection. Considering brain injury, hydrocephalus shunt malfunction, and infection, family caregivers need to be responsible for caring for PTH patients, recognizing shunt malfunction and infection, and managing those patients accordingly from hospital to home.

A Study on the Relationship between Mental Resilience, Work-Family Conflict, and Anxiety of Nurses in Shandong, China.

Based on Freud's personality theory, 839 nurses from 5 public hospitals in Shandong Province were selected by the convenience sampling method. A cross-sectional survey was conducted to investigate the correlation among resilience, work-family conflict (WFC), and anxiety (SAS). The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among resilience, WFC, and SAS of these nurses and to provide evidence with reducing WFC and SAS for the nurses.

With the surge in the confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, medical resources in many countries have been put on red alert levels. The operation management systems of hospitals, including wound care clinics, must be innovated to ensure the normal operation of the hospital and meet the medical care needs of the people.
