In this study, we present the synthesis and analysis of a novel, air-stable, and solvent-resistant phosphaalkene switch. Using this symmetric switch, we have demonstrated degenerate photoisomerization experimentally for the first time. With a combination of photochemical-exchange NMR spectroscopy, ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy, and quantum chemical calculations, we elucidate the isomerization mechanism of this symmetric phosphaalkene, comparing it to two other known molecules belonging to this class.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with high porosity and redox-active properties have been advanced as electrode materials for energy storage systems, although poor electron conductivity and inaccessibility of active pore sites hinder their performance as electrode material for supercapacitor application. Methods: In a prospective cohort study of 9420 pregnant women from 13 hospitals across India, we measured hemoglobin concentrations at recruitment (≥28 weeks of gestation) and blood loss after childbirth during follow-up and collected clinical information about PPH. Antisense medications treat diseases that cannot be treated using traditional pharmacological technologies. Nucleotide monomers of bare and phosphorothioate (PS)-modified LNA, N-MeO-amino-BNA, 2',4'-BNA[NH], 2',4'-BNA[NMe], and N-Me-aminooxy-BNA antisense modifications were considered for a detailed DFT-based quantum chemical study to estimate their molecular-level structural and electronic properties. The stepwise reduction of the highly contorted truxene-based triphosphaalkene 1 using KC led to the isolation of mono-, di-, and tri-anionic species. The solid-state molecular structures of mono- and diradical anionic species were elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffractions, revealing elongated P-C bonds and a pronounced "indene" aromatization compared to the parent system. All three radical species displayed distinct Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectra, providing compelling evidence for the open-shell electronic configuration of both the diradical and triradical species-an observation unprecedented in any previously reported phosphorous-based anionic polyradicals.

Thiele's Hydrocarbons (THs) featuring a 9,10-anthrylene core with switchable geometric and electronic configurations offer exciting possibilities in advanced functional materials. Despite significant advances in main group-based diradicaloids in contemporary chemistry, main group THs containing an anthrylene cores have remained elusive, primarily due to the lack of straightforward synthetic strategies and the inherent high reactivity of these species. Domestic ducks () are resistant to most of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAIV) infections. In this study, we characterized the lung proteome and phosphoproteome of ducks infected with the HPAI H5N1 virus (A/duck/India/02CA10/2011/Agartala) at 12 h, 48 h, and 5 days post-infection. A total of 2082 proteins were differentially expressed and 320 phosphorylation sites mapping to 199 phosphopeptides, corresponding to 129 proteins were identified.

White light emission (WLE) via dual thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) from a single-component-based organic system remains challenging as a result of the difficulty in design. Here, we introduce a conformational isomerization approach to achieve WLE from a twisted donor-acceptor (PTzQP1) that comprises two phenothiazines covalently attached to the 6,8-isomeric positions of 2,4-diphenyl quinoline via two C-N single bonds.
