The objective of the present study was an optimization of operating parameters and the performance of the methanogenesis reactor in phased anaerobic digestion (AD) of slaughterhouse wastewater at 37.5°C. Accordingly, the feedstock of the methanogenic reactor was effluent from the hydrolytic-acidogenic reactor operating at HRT of 3-days and OLR of 1789 mg/L.

Background: Epilepsy is a chronic non-communicable brain disorder and the second most burdensome disease in terms of disability-adjusted life years which is characterized by recurrent epileptic seizures, and a constant threat to the quality of life of the patient. Nearly 80% of people with epilepsy live in low- and middle-income countries and the risk of premature death in people with epilepsy is up to three times higher than for the general population. In many parts of the world, people with epilepsy and their families suffer from stigma and discrimination.
