Electrochemical and Morphological Investigations of Ga Addition to Pt Electrocatalyst Supported on Carbon.

This paper is consisted in the synthesis of platinum-based electrocatalysts supported on carbon (Vulcan XC-72) and investigation of the addition of gallium in their physicochemical and electrochemical properties toward ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR). PtGa/C electrocatalysts were prepared through thermal decomposition of polymeric precursor method at a temperature of 350°C. Six different compositions were homemade: PtGa/C, PtGa/C, PtGa/C, PtGa/C, PtGa/C, and Pt/C.

Detection of Helicobacter pylori CagA EPIYA in gastric biopsy specimens and its relation to gastric diseases.

CagA of Helicobacter pylori undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation in a region containing differing numbers of repeat sequences (EPIYAs), which can result in a modulation of the inflammatory response. This study investigated whether the presence of CagA EPIYA variations in strains of H. pylori that are positive for this region contributes to differing degrees of disease severity in the gastric mucosa.

Polymorphisms of IL-10 gene in patients infected with HCV under antiviral treatment in southern Brazil.

Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is a cytokine that plays an important role in the regulation of the immune system. Gene polymorphisms of IL-10 have been associated with the different expression levels of this cytokine. In hepatitis C virus infection, IL-10 appears to interfere with the progression of disease, viral persistence and the response to therapy.

2-(4-Bromo-phen-yl)-5-dodec-yloxy-1,3-thia-zole.

In the structure of the title compound, C(21)H(30)BrNOS, an important inter-mediate for the preparation of liquid crystal compounds, the saturated C(12) chain shows a linear conformation while the benzene and thia-zole rings are essentially coplanar [dihedral angle = 4.5 (4)°]. The crystal packing shows no significant inter-molecular inter-actions.
