Background: In obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HOCM), disopyramide is used in patients who remain symptomatic despite -blockers or verapamil. However, effectiveness of disopyramide therapy has not been clearly established due to inconsistent definition of responders and the insufficient length of follow-ups reported in literature. To address these shortcomings, we have conducted a retrospective analysis from detailed databases with long follow-up, from two HCM Referral Centers.

This review investigates the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions in the management of HF, examining lifestyle measures, physical activity, and the role of some electrical therapies such as catheter ablation, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), and cardiac contractility modulation (CCM). Structured exercise training is a cornerstone in this field, demonstrating terrific improvements in functional status, quality of life, and mortality risk reduction, particularly in patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

PDMS organogel sponges have been produced according to sugar leaching techniques by adding two sugar templates of different forms and grain sizes (a sugar cube template and a powdered sugar template), in order to obtain materials differing in porosity, pore size distribution, and solvent absorption and liquid retention capability. These materials were compared to PDMS organogel slabs that do not contain pores.

We sought to define the potential use of mavacamten by comparing real-world HOCM patients with those enrolled in EXPLORER-HCM and assessing their eligibility to treatment.
Methods And Results: We collected information on HOCM patients followed up at 25 Italian HCM outpatient clinics and with significant LVOTO (i.
Objectives: We assessed the efficacy and safety of ranolazine in real-world patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).
Background: Ranolazine is an anti-anginal drug that inhibits the late phase of the inward sodium current. In a small prospective trial, ranolazine reduced the arrhythmic burden and improved biomarker profile in HCM patients.
In recent years, new interest is growing in the left atrium (LA). LA functional analysis and measurement have an essential role in cardiac function evaluation. Left atrial size and function are key elements during the noninvasive analysis of diastolic function in several heart diseases.

A new protocol for the synthesis of HAP nanoparticles was developed, and the composition of the obtained nanomaterial was investigated through Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD); sizes, shape and morphology of the synthesized particles were studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The consolidation performance was evaluated by testing the new nanomaterial on degraded ancient bone findings.

In this setting, most of the data come from post hoc analyses and retrospective studies. Accordingly, in patients with advanced CKD, there are no specific studies evaluating the long-term effects of the traditional drugs commonly administered in HF.

Cardiac specific involvement (CSI) is caused by coronary artery vasculitis, but also by myocardial eosinophilic infiltration. To date, the prevalence of CSI associated with EGPA is unresolved.

Most of the ovarian cyst (80%-85%) are benign, and two-thirds of these occur in women between 20 and 44 years of age. They may be identified in asymptomatic women during routine pelvic examination or may produce symptoms.

An indoor monitoring campaign was performed in three museums in Florence (Italy) to determine the occurrence and levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs of interest included BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes), terpenes, aldehydes, organic acids, and cyclic volatile methyl siloxanes (cVMS).

One-third of infertile population attending infertility clinics are reported with anovulation. According to Acharya Sushruta, among four essential factors required for conception, (ovum) is the core stone of the female reproductive process and conception can not be achieved in its absence, despite of other factors.

A total of 189 fish specimens representing 46 species from 22 families was sampled from bycatch of the shrimp fishery. Microplastic particles removed from fish gastrointestinal tracts were identified using Attenuated Total Reflectance - Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FTIR).

A dynamic, rheological, and structural characterization of aqueous gel-like systems containing hydroxypropyl guar gum (HPG), borax and glycerol is presented in this paper. The role of glycerol, which is introduced as a plasticizer in the formulation, is investigated by means of B NMR and H NMR PGSTE measurements in order to clarify its contribution to the gel network formation and its interaction with borax, with whom it forms a complex. The effect of gels components on the rheological behaviour and on the activation energy related to the relaxation process of the system was assessed by means of rheology.

Four or more uterine contractions with or without pain per hour is a major biophysical predictor of preterm labour. According to the WHO statistics, every year, an estimated 15 million babies are born preterm and this number is rising.

Indoor air samples from libraries and archives in Florence, Italy, were collected and analysed for a variety of volatile organic compounds. The aim was to perform a characterisation of the indoor air quality, and try to elucidate if there are VOCs that may cause or result from the determination of the cultural heritage institutions. All compounds of interest were regularly detected, with BTEXs (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes) being the most abundant and followed by cyclic volatile methylsiloxanes, aldehydes, terpenes and organic acids.

The results indicate that the order of the reaction with respect to acetone is practically unaffected by the composition of the acid while the value of the mixed constant k1 K increases according to the sequence HBr
Despite the wide application of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) to a broad area of interests, from environment to food analysis, from drug discovery to diagnostics, its exploitation in cultural heritage conservation is still unexplored. Water-based highly viscous polymeric dispersions (HVPD) composed by partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl acetate (PVA), borax, and water, were recently developed and successfully applied for the selective removal of surface degradation patinas (i.e.

The structure and rheology behaviour of gels produced by water dispersions of a vitamin C-derived surfactant (ascorbyl-6-O-dodecanoate) were investigated by means of SAXS and rheology experiments for the first time. The gel state is formed upon heating and is due to an anisotropic expansion of the tightly compact lamellar structure. The phase transition involves primarily the melting of the alkyl chains and a significant increment in the interlamellar water layer.

Adsorption of graphene oxide (GO) flakes on the AgNC assemblies obtained with both procedures was monitored by quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) technique as a function of GO bulk concentration. The experiment provided values of the adsorbed GO mass on the AgNC array and the GO saturation limit as well as the thickness and the viscoelastic properties of the GO film.

In this respect, the electrocatalytic effect of silver is enhanced by the addition of cobalt, which is able to break the O-O bond of molecular oxygen, thus accelerating the first step of the reduction mechanism. At the same time, research is to further reduce the catalyst's cost, reducing the amount of Ag, which, even though being much less expensive than Pt, is still a noble metal.
