Electroacupuncture (EA) has shown promise as a treatment for Functional constipation (FC), with growing evidence suggesting it may enhance gut motility. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) serve as key regulatory molecules mediating host-microbiota interactions. However, the specific fecal miRNAs regulating microbiota composition and metabolism in EA-treated constipated mice, along with their key targets, remain unidentified.

Relationship Between FODMAP Diet and Irritable Bowel Syndrome: A Mendelian Randomization Study.

There is some evidence of a link between fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols (FODMAP) diet and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). However, few studies have analyzed the relationship between specific dietary intakes and IBS using Mendelian randomization (MR). Exposure and outcome datasets were sourced from the IEU Open GWAS project.

Health literacy assessment and analysis of influencing factors in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus in Southwest China.

Objective: The main objectives of our study are evaluating the health literacy level among women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in Southwest China and explore the influencing factors, using a multidimensional health literacy assessment scale (Chinese version of the HLS-14). Given that the HLS-14 has not been used in GDM previously, its reliability and validity testing was included as a secondary objective.

Method: It was a cross-sectional survey with 565 GDM pregnancies.

Ultrasensitive SERS Profiling of Intracellular Hydrogen Peroxide Release Based on Enzymatic Amplification and Silent-Region Raman Reporter.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering spectroscopy (SERS) has been widely applied to screen biomarkers and biological species due to its high sensitivity; however, severe background noise signals significantly limit its practical application. In this study, we develop an ultrasensitive SERS sensor to determine cellular oxidative stress based on the HO-induced enzymatic amplification and a silent-range Raman fingerprint. In the presence of horseradish peroxidase, HO could trigger the coupling reaction of 4-hydroxythiophenol (4-MTP) with phenol-d5 to form a new compound, which can bind to the SERS substrate via the Au-S bond and generate the stable SERS signal with nearly zero background signals owing to the Raman-silent fingerprint of phenol-d5 at 2125 cm.

Methods: We searched the MEDLINE, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, CINAHL Complete, and ClinicalTrials.gov from inception to January 23, 2024 for all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of auriculotherapy in the treatment of APP.

Effectiveness of keratinized mucosa augmentation procedures around dental implants based on risk assessment: A 5-year retrospective cohort study.

Background: Maternal parenting self-efficacy plays a critical role in facilitating positive parenting practices and successful adaption to motherhood. The Perceived Maternal Parenting Self-Efficacy Scale (PMPS-E), as a task-specific measure, confirms its psychometric properties in cultural contexts. Compared with other tools, the advantages of the PMPS-E are as follows: (i) specific context or time period during the lifespan of a child, (ii) explicitly assess parenting self-efficacy across a diverse enough range of parenting tasks or activities during the perinatal/postnatal period and (iii) having robust psychometric properties.

Therefore, we investigated whether processed Hua could improve postpartum depression in rat models by regulating monoamines and hormones.

Interaction of landslide spatial patterns and river canyon landforms: Insights into the Three Parallel Rivers Area, southeastern Tibetan Plateau.

The interaction and mechanism of landslide spatial patterns and river canyon landforms are significant for understanding geomorphic evolution in intensive tectonic alpine environments. This study focuses on the Three Parallel Rivers Area (TPRA) in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau encompassing three parallel rivers (the Nujiang, Lancang, and Jinsha Rivers), to examine the synergistic evolution of geomorphic features and landslides. The analysis revealed a pattern of landslide aggregation in the river valley characterized by the sequence Nujiang > Lancang > Jinsha Rivers.

LAFEM: A Scoring Model to Evaluate Functional Landscape of Lysine Acetylome.

Protein lysine acetylation is a critical post-translational modification involved in a wide range of biological processes. To date, about 20,000 acetylation sites of Homo sapiens were identified through mass spectrometry-based proteomic technology, but more than 95% of them have unclear functional annotations because of the lack of existing prioritization strategy to assess the functional importance of the acetylation sites on large scale. Hence, we established a lysine acetylation functional evaluating model (LAFEM) by considering eight critical features surrounding lysine acetylation site to high-throughput estimate the functional importance of given acetylation sites.
