In this study, a new hybrid nanoparticle composed of magnesium hydroxide and copper oxide (Mg(OH)/CuO) with an optimized ratio of magnesium (Mg) to copper (Cu) was designed and incorporated into a 3D-printed scaffold made of polycaprolactone (PCL) and gelatin. These hybrid nanostructures (MCNs) were prepared using a green, solvent-free method. Their topography, surface morphology, and structural properties were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

Using a spatiotemporal dataset of over 52,000 hospitalized CVD patients collected over five years, the study supports approaches like advanced spatiotemporal modeling, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to predict high-risk CVD areas and guide public health interventions.
Data Description: This dataset includes detailed epidemiologic and geospatial information on CVD hospitalizations in Mashhad, Iran, from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2020.
Diabetes mellitus, particularly type 2 diabetes, is a growing global health challenge characterized by chronic hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance. One therapeutic approach to managing this condition is the inhibition of α-glucosidase, an enzyme involved in carbohydrate digestion, to reduce postprandial blood glucose levels. In this study, a series of thiosemicarbazide-linked quinoline-piperazine derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, to identify new agents for type 2 diabetes management.

There is a need for a reliable, applicable, and reproducible animal model for studying urinary incontinency disease due to incorrect sphincter function. Seven adult male dogs were used for this study.

AoD is classified as the DeBakey classification (Types I, II, III) and Stanford classification (Types A and B). Women with underlying risk factors such as hypertension, smoking, bicuspid aortic valve, and connective tissue disorders are at risk for pregnancy-related AoD.

Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, PsychINFO, Scopus, and Web of Science from January 01, 2000, to August 31, 2023, for empirical qualitative and quantitative studies.
Background: The spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as its high contagiousness, increased students' anxiety and stress. Anxiety may affect individuals' functioning and undermine their self-efficacy. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the relationship between COVID-19 anxiety and self-efficacy among adolescent students.

While acute cardiac effects are well-known, long-term implications are understudied. This review hopes to fill a gap in the literature and provide valuable insights into the long-term cardiac consequences of the virus, which can inform future public health policies and clinical practices.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA-lines and B-lines are key ultrasound markers that differentiate normal from abnormal lung conditions. A-lines are horizontal lines usually seen in normal aerated lungs, while B-lines are linear vertical artifacts associated with lung abnormalities such as pulmonary edema, infection, and COVID-19, where a higher number of B-lines indicates more severe pathology. This paper aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a newly released lung ultrasound AI tool (ExoLungAI) in the detection of A-lines and quantification/detection of B-lines to help clinicians in assessing pulmonary conditions.

This study aimed to evaluate the biochemical, inflammatory and coagulation parameters in pregnant women with severe disease conditions (as one of the high-risk groups) as well as prognosis and outcome.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 135 pregnant women with COVID-19 admitted to ICU.
In this study, a series of fifteen compounds (7a-o) based on a quinoline-benzimidazole scaffold bearing piperazine acetamide derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their potential as α-glucosidase inhibitors, which are important therapeutic agents in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Among the synthesized compounds, 7m exhibited the most potent inhibitory activity, demonstrating a 28-fold greater efficacy than the standard clinical inhibitor, acarbose. Molecular docking studies indicated strong binding interactions between 7m and the α-glucosidase active site, including hydrogen bonding, π-π stacking, and π-cation interactions.

Methods: This study was conducted on 90 patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy at Bahonar Hospital in Kerman in 2021.
Dealing with spinal cord injuries presents problematic due to multiple secondary mechanisms. Beyond primary concerns like paralysis and disability, complications including urinary, gastrointestinal, cardiac, and respiratory disorders, along with substantial economic burdens may occur. Limited research focuses on modeling and treating contusion and compression injuries.

Background: Adjuvants use several mechanisms to boost immunogenicity and to modulate immune response. The strength of adsorption of antigen by adjuvants can be a determinant factor for significant improvement of immunopotentiation.
Methods: We expressed recombinant RBD-FC in PichiaPink Strain 4 and examined the vaccination of mice by vaccine formulation with different adjuvants (sodium alginate and aluminum hydroxide, alone and together).
Background: The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all areas of society, including students. However, medical students have faced many challenges due to direct contact with patients. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating and comparing the quality of life (QoL), anxiety and mindfulness between Iranian medical and non-medical students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The present study aimed to determine the predictive role of spiritual health, resilience, and mental well-being in treatment adherence among hemodialysis patients.
Methods: This correlational cross-sectional study investigated some variables related to treatment adherence in 184 patients undergoing hemodialysis referred to two dialysis centers in Kerman, southeastern Iran.
Damaged articular cartilage has limited self-healing potential and often leads to osteoarthritis (OA), pain, and dysfunction of the affected joint. Autologous and allogenic transplants cannot fully meet the needs of clinical treatment. Two dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) cell cultures can help to study growth modeling and physiological characteristics of the human body.
