Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the safety and effectiveness of intelligent intrarenal pressure control versus traditional methods in treating renal stones under 2 cm, involving 60 patients in a randomized, controlled trial from November 2023 to July 2024.
  • - Results showed that the intelligent pressure control group took longer for procedures (average 52.5 minutes) compared to the traditional group (46 minutes), with a lower stone-free rate on the first postoperative day (73.33% vs. 93.33%).
  • - Despite similar outcomes in stone clearance after two months and low rates of complications for both methods, the traditional approach resulted in lower overall hospitalization costs compared to the intelligent pressure control method.

Our study aimed to retrospectively analyze the patients who underwent the combination of negative pressure equipment and RIRS(NP-RIRS) for renal stones, and identified new high-risk factors related to infection. 456 patients with renal stones ≤ 3 cm underwent NP-RIRS in our department, from January 2022 to October 2023. All patients were divided into non-infection group(NIRIRS group) and infection group(IRIRS group) based on infection complications during the perioperative period.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compared the effectiveness and safety of two surgical methods for treating octopus stones (2 to 4 cm): single standard mini percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (SM-PCNL) combined with retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) and multiple standard mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MSM-PCNL).
  • After analyzing data from 88 patients in the combined group and 143 patients in the multiple channel group, the study found no significant differences in overall complications or stone-free rates between the two methods.
  • However, the combined group had less postoperative pain, a higher tubeless rate, a smaller drop in hemoglobin, and shorter hospital stays, while the operation time was longer compared to the multiple

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the safety and effectiveness of two surgical methods, IPCP and FUAS, for treating kidney stones under 2 cm using retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) in a group of 99 patients.
  • The main measure of success was the stone-free rate (SFR) at three months post-surgery, with initial results showing the FUAS group had a significantly higher SFR on the first postoperative day but not at three months.
  • Both methods showed similar safety profiles with no noteworthy differences in complications, but FUAS demonstrated better outcomes for patients with stones located in the lower renal calyces.

Article Synopsis
  • * Examination revealed numerous grayish-white, hard nodules, the largest being around 2.0 cm, with no pain or skin breakdown.
  • * After surgically removing the nodules, there was significant skin loss, but the scrotum was successfully reconstructed using V and Z sutures.

Article Synopsis
  • * He has a medical history of hypertension, diabetes, and coronary artery disease and was diagnosed with giant prostatic hyperplasia.
  • * The chosen treatment was bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate, which significantly improved his urinary flow and quality of life after 11 months, emphasizing safety over complete removal of the prostate.
