Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are rare spindle cell neoplasms that originate from mesothelial-lined surfaces, mainly the pleura and peritoneum. SFT is a distinctive mesenchymal neoplasm of the pleura but can be found in extrapleural sites. The treatment of SFT is simple excision or wide local resection.
