Objectives: This research was done to assess how much bone is lost around dental implants in smokers.
Material And Method: There were 80 participants total in the study, 40 of whom were smokers (Group I) and 40 of who were non-smokers (Group II). By evaluating the patients' clinical and radiographic data, the marginal bone-level measurements were determined.
Background: Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) is one of the principle therapies for coronary artery disease, as it improves survival rate and quality of life (QoL). Polypropylene suture is commonly used in vascular and cardiac surgeries for anastomosis due to its long-term tensile strength and minimal tissue trauma. This study compared the clinical equivalence of Trulene® (Healthium Medtech Limited) and Prolene® (Ethicon-Johnson & Johnson) polypropylene sutures regarding incidence of myocardial infarction, stroke, renal failure and cardiac death (MACCE) occurring up to 26 weeks' period post-CABG surgery.

Thyromental distance (TMD) is the most commonly used predictor of difficult intubation. However, it's not a reliable indicator of difficulty during intubation because it differs with patients' body & size proportion.

The process of laryngoscopy causes the release of catecholamines, thereby leading to marked pressor responses and tachycardia. The process of laryngoscopy can be made easier by the use of various types of laryngoscopic blades.

The early warning scoring (EWS) system is a prediction tool used in monitoring medical patients in hospitals, hospital staying length, and inpatient mortality. The present study evaluated four different EWS systems for the prediction of patient survival.

The advancements in the field of cancer research indicate the need for direction towards the development of new drug candidates that are instrumental in a tumour-specific action. The pool of natural compounds proves to be a promising avenue for the discovery of groundbreaking cancer therapeutics.

During wet milling, the maize is disintegrated into the main product starch and by-products, including maize germ, maize fibre and maize gluten (the technical term for maize/corn endosperm-specific proteins and not the same as wheat gluten). These by-products are used as low-value animal feed products.

However, their use is sometimes limited due to serious adverse events like ototoxicity and hearing loss, leading to permanent hearing loss if SLIs are continued. Globally as well as in India a wide variation in incidence of ototoxicity/hearing loss has been reported in patients with DR-TB.

Objective: To compare the weight gain between amisulpride and blonanserin treatment, in persons with psychosis.
Pesticides have become part of food protection since their inception. Endosulfan, an organochlorine insecticide, has been used against insect pests such as whiteflies, aphids, red spiders and mites. Methods of immunochemical assays have been devised for the determination and analysis of pesticides and commonly used for the analysis of contaminants in food, water, soil and body fluids.

The present study compared the speed of recovery in elderly patients undergoing general anesthesia with sevoflurane or desflurane and the incidence and duration of cognitive impairment in them.
Methods: The prospective study was conducted at a tertiary care centre in Bangalore from November 2008 to March 2010.
Background: The swine flu (H1N1) with rapid spread and panic in population is truly global pandemic, affected mainly younger population. There is need to accumulate evidence regarding patient's intensive care parameters for effective management of newer strains of influenza viral infections. Hence an observed retrospective record analysis of confirmed H1N1 patients admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) of a tertiary care centre is done.
