Pembrolizumab induced remission of recurrent and metastatic sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma after overcoming checkpoint-inhibitor pneumonitis: A case report and literature review.

Background: For programmed death-ligand-1 (PD-L1) positive recurrent and metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (R/M-HNSCC), KEYNOTE-048 and KEYNOTE-040 clinical trials recently approved pembrolizumab monotherapy as first-line treatment. However, recurrent and metastatic sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma (R/M-SNSCC) was excluded from these clinical trials and treatment reports of immune-checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) in R/M-SNSCC are sparse. Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) are known to occur during ICI treatment and some of these such as checkpoint-inhibitor pneumonitis (CIP) can be fatal.

Were US Asian Indian decedents with atherosclerosis more likely to have concurrent diabetes mellitus? Analysis of national multiple cause of mortality data (2012-2019).

Background: Asian Indians (AI) are at high risk for both atherosclerotic diseases (ATH) and diabetes mellitus (DM). We analyze the clustering of these two comorbidities as contributing causes of death in AI versus Non-AI populations in the US.

Methods: Using Mortality Multiple Cause-of-Death Files (2012-2019) from the National Center for Health Statistics, we included deaths at age ≥ 45 years among US residents where AI versus Non-AI status could be ascertained (n = 55,461 AI; n = 20,090,038 Non-AI) and identsified ATH (ICD10: I20-I25, I63, I70) and DM (ICD10: E10-E14) as contributing causes of death.

A study of perceptions and exposure of drug promotional literature among clinicians in a teaching hospital.

Background: Drug promotional literature (DPL) forms a major marketing technique of pharmaceutical companies for propagating information regarding a drug. Many a times, it is the only source on which treating physicians depend for updating their knowledge about the existing and novel drugs.

Aims And Objectives: This study was conducted to understand the clinicians' perceptions about DPL and its critical appraisal so that relevant interventions can be made.
