We search for gravitational-wave signals produced by cosmic strings in the Advanced LIGO and Virgo full O3 dataset. Search results are presented for gravitational waves produced by cosmic string loop features such as cusps, kinks, and, for the first time, kink-kink collisions. A template-based search for short-duration transient signals does not yield a detection.

We estimate the sensitivity of the network to transient gravitational-wave signals for the third (O3), fourth (O4) and fifth observing (O5) runs, including the planned upgrades of the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors. We study the capability of the network to determine the sky location of the source for gravitational-wave signals from the inspiral of binary systems of compact objects, that is binary neutron star, neutron star-black hole, and binary black hole systems.

Our effort toward finding new porous materials that can selectively uptake acetylene resulted in two 3D metal-organic frameworks. Compound , {[Zn(-pda)(bpee)]} (-pda = -phenylenediacetate and bpee = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene) turned out to be a nonporous structure due to the presence of a bulky and rigid aromatic ring in the -pda ligand.

This source, for the first time, permits tests of strong-field dynamics of compact binaries in the presence of matter. In this Letter, we place constraints on the dipole radiation and possible deviations from GR in the post-Newtonian coefficients that govern the inspiral regime.

This nonresonant instability transfers energy from the orbit of the binary to internal modes of the stars, accelerating the gravitational-wave driven inspiral. We model the impact of this instability on the phasing of the gravitational wave signal using three parameters per star: an overall amplitude, a saturation frequency, and a spectral index.

The detection of this gravitational-wave signal, GW170817, offers a novel opportunity to directly probe the properties of matter at the extreme conditions found in the interior of these stars. The initial, minimal-assumption analysis of the LIGO and Virgo data placed constraints on the tidal effects of the coalescing bodies, which were then translated to constraints on neutron star radii.

Single-crystal X-ray diffraction study of 1 reveals a 2D network structure constituted by Ni3 cluster and [Ni-HTCPP](3-) metalloligand having (3, 6)-connected binodal net with {4(3)}2{4(6)·6(6)·8(3)}-kgd net topology. The 2D layers are further stacked together through π-π interactions between the porphyrin linkers to generate a 3D supramolecular framework which houses 1D channels with dimension of ∼5.

Advances in current treatment regimens in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) have resulted in cure rates of 75-80 %. Some molecular genetic abnormalities confer a poor prognosis. Of these, the chromosomal translocation t (9;22)-Philadelphia chromosome is associated with the worst outcome in childhood ALL.

Methemoglobinemia should be suspected in infants with a history of diarrhea and cyanosis that is out of proportion to the history and clinical examination. Methemoglobinemia can be life threatening, but outcome is good when treated with IV methylene blue.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of cases diagnosed to have ILD was carried out in Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust hospital over a period of 2 yr. Infants aged 1 month to 1 yr of age were included if they had (1) respiratory symptoms (Cough, tachypnea or crepitations) for at least 1 month (2) diffuse infiltrates on chest radiography (3) Hypoxemia as defined by oxygen saturation less than 90% by pulse oximetry and (4) High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT) of the chest revealing findings of interstitial infiltrates or ground glass pattern.
Bartter syndrome is an inherited renal tubular disorder with hypokalemia, hypochloremic metabolic alkalosis, normal blood pressure with hyper-reninemia and increased urinary loss of sodium, potassium and chloride. We report an infant with neonatal Bartter syndrome, who improved with potassium supplements.

We report a case of Richner Hanhart syndrome in a 19-month-old child, who presented with ocular and skin lesions.
