Risk factors associated with overactive bladder severity in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Background: The prevalence of overactive bladder (OAB) is known to be higher in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) however there are not many studies about specific risk factors contributing to its progression among diabetes mellitus (DM) patients, so this study aimed to investigate the risk factors specific to DM that influence the progression of OAB in Syrian population.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out at five endocrinology centers situated in four Syrian provinces: Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, and Latakia. The study comprised patients who were diagnosed with both T2DM and OAB and had visited these centers from March 2020 and February 2024.
