Article Synopsis
  • Three randomized trials show that male circumcision reduces HIV transmission from females to males by 60%.
  • The study, conducted in western Kenya, analyzed parental choices regarding infant male circumcision (IMC) and found that parental agreement and father's circumcision status influenced acceptance rates.
  • Results indicate that fathers play a crucial role in the decision-making process and suggest that circumcision programs should engage both parents to effectively promote IMC services across all age groups.
