Background: There are widespread concerns about abuse of care home residents. We report, in the largest care home survey, prevalence of staff anonymously-reported, perpetrated/witnessed abusive behaviours towards care home residents over 3 months. We also report positive care behaviours.

Aims: To report, in a large care home survey, prevalence and determinants of agitation in residents with dementia.
Method: We interviewed staff from 86 care homes between 13 January 2014 and 12 November 2015 about residents with dementia with respect to agitation (Cohen-Mansfield Agitation Inventory (CMAI)), quality of life (DEMQOL-proxy) and dementia severity (Clinical Dementia Rating).
Background: Elder abuse in care homes is probably common but inherently difficult to detect. We developed the first questionnaire to ask care home workers to report abuse anonymously.
Method: We held qualitative focus groups with 36 care workers from four London care homes, asking about abuse they had witnessed or perpetrated.
Objective: To identify common difficult decisions made by family carers on behalf of people with dementia, and facilitators of and barriers to such decisions, in order to produce information for family carers about overcoming barriers.
Design: Qualitative study to delineate decision areas through focus groups and complexity of decision making in individual interviews.
Setting: Community settings in London.
Background Aims: This study was initiated to determine whether CD34(+) cell selection of small-volume bone marrow (BM) samples could be performed effectively on the Isolex(R) 300i Magnetic Cell Selection System device and whether the results obtained from these samples were comparable with results from large standard-volume samples. The impact on CD34(+) recovery using a full versus half vial of Isolex(R) CD34 reagent and the effects of shipping a post-selection product were evaluated.
Methods: A protocol to evaluate CD34(+) cell selection with two ranges of smaller volume BM samples (c.
