Hepatitis C and Human Pegivirus Coinfection in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C from the Brazilian Amazon Region: Prevalence, Genotypes and Clinical Data.

Coinfection of HPgV-1 with hepatitis C virus (HCV) is common due to shared modes of transmission, with a prevalence of HPgV-1 viremia of approximately 20% among individuals with chronic HCV infection. The aim of the present study was to estimate the prevalence of HPgV-1 RNA and circulating genotypes in patients with hepatitis C from a health service located in the city of Belém, in the state of Pará, Northern Brazil. A total of 147 samples were included in the study from February to December 2019.

The Philadelphia (Ph+) chromosome, t(9;22)(q34;q11.2), originates from a chimeric gene called and is present in more than 90% of CML patients. Most patients with CML express the protein p210 and, with a frequency lower than 5%, express rare isoforms, the main one being p190.

Detection of Sepsis in Platelets Using MicroRNAs and Membrane Antigens.

The present study proposes to legitimize in sepsis a characteristic found in platelets that suffer storage lesions in blood banks, which is the increased expression of miRNA miR-320a in relation to miR-127. Under physiologically normal conditions, an inverse relationship is observed. The aim of this study was to verify whether the analysis of miR-320a and miR-127 expression in platelets could detect a decrease in their viability and function due to the presence of pathogens in the blood of patients hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
